Everyone who read the front page of USA Today on Friday couldn't possibly missed the article, as some states have already passed some legislation, or are halfway there, in allowing patrons of their state lotteries to purchase tickets online. I could not help noticing that one of the reasons they were doing this was because "they were losing revenues to online casinos and sportsbooks." What hypocrites!....nationwide, the lotteries grossed close to 50 billion dollars...can you imagine if they legalized and regulated sportsbook wagering online? They claim they will be able to limit purchases to a max of $5 per day, and they will be able to identify their in-state clients who would have to register. All of a sudden they also claim they will be able to patrol the sites and prevent children from becoming gamblaholics. They also state that the sales will now target higher income patrons...to take the burden off of the poor. I love to hear Jay C's comments on these happenings......
