Those all look good except for locksmith. You have to go to some sort of schooling to do it, it is a learned skill. You are also supposed to be licensed and bonded. Not worth it. I know one locksmith and he barely gets by.

open a Cold Stone Creamery franchise in a busy mall/movie theatre area. f*ing places are always packed, especially the ones near movie threatres.

There is another similar franchise I've seen called Marble Slab - same concept as Cold Stone. The franchise fees may be lower since it's not as big.

yeah, I have seen that place too although there are none around me. According to their websites the franchise fee is $42k for Coldstone and between $22-32k for Marble slab. Coldstone's website doesn't list their royalty and ad fees. doesn't really seem all that bad.

oh...

i have always dreamed of having a internet site that would allow you to wager on video games. lMadden, MLB, FIFA, basically all sport games and first person shotting games. for example i could come home from work log into my account place $10 on a game of madden verse some guy in alaska. the internet site takes a 10% cut of each game. games can be $5, $10, $20, $50, $100, $1000, $2000, $5000... i bet NFL palyers would flock to this dropping 5k a game...
i would have about a dozen freinds that would sign up for this in less than a minute.

You want a good easy business:

Start a good (I mean slices of meat piled high - not BS) deli in any major office building in any major financial district - check out NYC, Boston, SF, Chicago... Every office building has McD, BurgerKing, Arbies, etc.. Many food courts. As someone who frequents these buildings all the time, everyone is so sick of this crap food - subway, panda express, etc etc..

A good deli in any 50 floor office building would have a 20 minute line. Not to mention all the platter deliveries for business meetings.

Plus start up costs are minimal with no hot food.

Good luck.

Want another good business - shoe shining stations in office buildings - especially buildings with major train/commuter rail stops... Cheap rent to be in the hallway...

I have a friend who is starting a company that will automatically make your TV alert you or change stations to teams/games you want to watch. It will supposeduly pick up critical endings and alert you that you should flip the channel.

I told him he should incorporate gambling and alert you to flip when a quarter, half, or game is near the line or total....

In general, it is usually best to buy an already existing
business, as opposed to try and build one from scratch. You need to get a good price on it, of course.

Costume Jewelery for Women - pearls, sea stones etc.

Ship them in from Asia at $2-3 a piece, sell them at house parties with a 1000% mark-up.

There's a million good business ideas out there, but it's all in the preparation and execution whether you make them work.

They have that, it's called ESPN Gamecast, and it's free. Am I missing something?

Here's one idea for you guys that is right up your alley, and DEFINTIELY doable.

One company I work part time gigs for is a private casino party company up in Boston. The guy bought a bunch of tables (Blackjack, craps, poker, roulette) and people hire him to put on private parties. Example includes office year end parties, private christmas parties, birthday parties, etc. He said he bought all the tables off some guy who makes them homemade, so each table was like $200 and has folding legs so they transport easy in a Uhaul truck. Then he hires guys like me who are capable enough to deal poker or blackjack for about $75 a gig (4-5 hours). I had to buy a tuxedo shirt, vest, pants, and bow tie, but that was only like $80 from the rental store, I made that back in one night working. As far as I know, he prices parties at about $600 for 3 games, 1 dealer each, so he's making $375 profit on even the smallest party. The bigger the party the more tables, the more money you can make. Also, the people can hire a "bartender" through him too, which is just a guy like me who can pour drinks that they provide.

He's got plenty of workers just by posting for help on craigslist. Also, the guys who hire the party usually tips out at least $20 per dealer at the end of the night.

Oh I forgot to mention, the games aren't for real money so it's not illegal. Everyone at the party is given $2000 worth of chips at the beginning of the night, and we play with those. At the end of the night, whoever has the top 3 chip amounts wins prizes like $100 gift certificate, t-shirt, bottle of booze, whatever. That way people still feel like they're playing for something, but not worried about losing money.
