for those new here, every sunday night from 10P-Midnite (PDT), radio station KDWN, 720-AM (and i will answer the question i know will come up: NO, you can't hear it over the internet and unless you are within listening distance of the station you are "SOL"), from Vegas has "The Stardust Line" radio show in which they go over the opening numbers for the next week's feetball games - and then Dave Cokin and Ron Frazier go over the following weeks NCAA games. at the end of the show they give out 3 picks they like. in the past they have CONSISTENTLY hit over 60%. here are their 3 pix. keep in mind the number listed with his pick is the number at the time - and may not be the current number.

Here are Cokin's pix for the week (Frazier wasn't on the show this week due to a sked conflict):

Cokin's Pix
***********
Duke +15 (Virginia)
UNC +16.5 (Florida State)
UNLV +1 (Toledo)

As you are aware they took it off when most of the radio stations stop broadcasting on the internet. It has been up for a while. The archive is great. Agree no longer necessay to stay up till midnight but probably still will.

i stayed up until 11P - and then taped the last hour so i could go to bed - as well as be able to listen to it one more time later in the week in case i really wanted/needed to do so.

i know they took it off air sometime ago - but whenever i kept checking back listening on line wasn't yet and option.

i have heard from several people who used to work at KDWN that their equipment is from the "Marconi-age" - and that's not that good!

kdwn is in the Plaza hotel downtown by Fremont if that gives you any better idea of the stone age you are dealing with. They still have some of the best weekend sports/gambling programming around if you can tune it in, though.

i've been listening to KDWN for about 20 years now late at night. i go back to lee pete and donny bader. i called in all the time. i will never forget 1 time when lee say me down next to he and donny and i was their guest for about 20-30 minutes. lee asked how the "SAT" could be so tough - so i brought in a few sample questions - and after reading them - and not knowing what the hell they said - he got a better understanding of why it is so tough.

Winky- that is funny stuff... yeah when pete the part time guy comes on after I've nodded off from smokin' Dave Cokin dominating all the conversation I sometimes have a hard time figuring out what the hell it is I'm listening to. what is the story behind the dj in Baker getting to throw his picks in on the stardust line, do you know the origin of that contribution?

BTW, Winky, belated thanks from last year for posting the Stardust pix. I picked them up the Philippines while I was on vacation last November.

This year all I gotta find is an internet cafe with a sound card in their computer, and keylogger detection software so someone won't hack my online account after I place some wagers!

cokin was killing frazier all season - then ron got hot at the end and cokin slumped - and frazier won by about 1 game. but BOTH hit over 60% for the season.
