congrats to the 'guins. impressive job with so many
injuries, a weakened defense, and surviving four
power plays. nothing better than watching a haunting
loss at home by those cheap shotting and diving
preds.

Mr Lemieux post-celebrations......:)

"We've won the Cup three times, and we feel very fortunate to be able to win it back-to-back," Lemieux said. "It's something special, something that these guys and all of us in the organization can cherish for the rest of our lives. It's unbelievable."

Lemieux takes great pride in that the Penguins are the first back-to-back Cup champions in the salary-cap era, something he believes saved the franchise."It was important for any small-market team to have the salary cap," Lemieux said. "We couldn't compete with the New York Rangers and the big markets like Chicago and Detroit. To have the salary cap gave us the chance to spend to the cap and be on an even playing field with these other teams."

Of course, Lemieux also acknowledged that none of the recent Cup championships would have been possible had the Penguins not won the NHL Draft lottery to select Sidney Crosby first overall in 2005.
"He's a great leader. He's been able to lead this team from the day we drafted him, and he grew as a great leader, a great player — one of the best of all time — and for him to win three Cups puts him in a box with greats," Lemieux said of Crosby, who won the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP for the second straight year.
"He's changed our franchise. He's changed the way we do business in Pittsburgh. Of course, he has a good supporting cast, with (Evgeni) Malkin, (Kris) Letang and (Marc-Andre) Fleury and a few other guys along the way, but Sid really changed the outlook of our franchise. He's made it one of the best, not only in hockey but all of sports."
Crosby, of course, still trails the Hall of Fame player-turned-owner Lemieux in Cup championships.
"Maybe," Lemieux joked, "he can buy a piece of the team when he's done."

sidney crosby was selected first in the nhl draft as everyone expected.
the anaheim ducks selected second and took bobby ryan. when asked
later about this selection, the ducks gm, brian burke, said " i can't
believe he was still available". funny guy.

Don't forget to thank the Ref who took away The Predators goal.

how pathetic is this? It's a best-of- 7 series. Shits going to happen along the journey to raising Lord Stanley. Overcome. Just as the Pens had to overcome 5 power plays to ZERO in game 6 including a questionable penalty that gave Nashville a 5-0n-3.

it was an unfortunate whistle, but that happens in sports and is not
reviewable. i'm sure that whistle will haunt the predators and their
fans for years.

Haunt them? Huh ? Only if they r clueless . In general , most don't like to take personal responsibility - it's a disease in society . Take the easier road, Blame Blvd

After the game , Nashville fans chanting 'penguins suck ' spoke volumes . I guess smashing vehicles led to bent-up anger , delusion ..

Not a Preds fan. Just a bad look for the N.H.L. on a Nationally televised game.

It was a good goal and should be reviewable.

sorry, but when the ref blows the whistle in ANY sport, the play is over.
