Gonna play some Olympic Hockey now that the break is here ... Be forewarned .. I do not follow International Hockey nor do I claim to know anything about most international players. Tail cautiously.
OK so the first preliminary matches in women's hockey has now come and gone and we can see the results and perhaps some insight going into the rest of the tourney.
So we have USA vs. Switzerland on Monday morning at 5AM EST. The USA team is 1-0 with 3 goals and 43 shots on goal. Switzerland is 0-1 with 0 goals and 14 shots on goal. USA beat Finland 3-1 and as I understand it Finland has the the best defense and maybe the best goalie on the ice (can anyone confirm or deny this for me?). Canada beat the Swiss 5-0 with 69 shots on goal. I also understand that the USA womens team has just recently surpassed Canada in the rankings (again can this be confirmed for me?). If all I hear is true then I can see the USA womens team perhaps scoring more goals against Switzerland than the Canadians did. Im leaning on playing USA -6.5 and Over 7.5.
Now onto the 10AM EST game .. Canada vs. Finland. Like I stated above if everything I am hearing is correct about Finland's defense then I am leaning on playing Finland +4.5 as I think they will be tougher to score on than the Swiss were for the Canadians. I am also eyeing the Under 5.5 as I think Canada will be able to score just not as much as they did against the Swiss and I don't see Finland scoring more than 1 perhaps 2. Im thinking 3-1 or 4-1 Canada just because they have so many shots on goal.
