been looking at todays card and want to find between 1-3 winners.....
here is what i see:
cubs/atl: no way to play this one but to take the cubs, forget the total... cormier could get shelled at any time and you cant play the over, when the cubs may have to score all the runs..... braves have dropped 2 straight against lefty's......... cubs are a possible play....
col/balt: cannot play this one at all...... francis has been really good lately, col 15-6 in last 21 interleague games, you here that NL......... also colorado surprisingly well on the road this year...... an easy pass for me.. total at 9, no thanks on that either...
pitt/yanks: no way im laying $2, especially against groselanny..... im not looking for value either, im looking for winners, so that eliminates me taking pitt......... another easy pass for me........
mets/detroit: pretty even pitching matchup, especially looking at last 3.. mets dominate on the road (18-7) so this makes for another easy pass.. detroit plays overs, mets play unders, ill stay away from the total as well.
drays/marlins: slight lean to marlins but im not letting Kim carry my wallet tonight...... so another pass for me...... marlins are 6-0 in last 6 vs a lefty and 11-3 in last 14 interleague against a lefty..... the under is 23-9 in the last 32, so that rules out taking the over......... another pass but a slight nod to the marlins here..
cinn/clev: if i were a value player, id take the home dog here..... homer makes his debut tonight, against hated clev....... no way id back Lee in this one (he stinks)....... you cant play an under in cincy and the over is jacked to 11..... the only play here is cincy or the over and i cant take either on a reach..... so another pass.....
phil/kc: clearly philly would get the nod here but i cant lay (-1.60) with garcia on the road, are you kidding..... we need 11 for this to go over.. no thanks on this one..... philly should win but its a stupid bet.......
I have now went thru 7 games and the Cubs are the only legitimate play for me...... continuning on......
minn/wash: minn kills the NL (20-7) in last 27 but im not laying (-1.80) with silva and i dont lay (-1.5) on home teams, you lose an AB...... slight lean to the over but not enough to count on 10 runs being scored in the dome tonight....... another pass......
Laa/stl: no way i take kip wells (2-10) here and i cant back the fat boy either (8.66 era in last 3)...... the over should get considered in this one as STL has been trending over alot lately..... the angels however play to the under (23-34) so that leaves me thinking..... will wells or colon get it straightened out or will this one fly over the total....... ill look at it again but probably pass.....
hou/cws: hou stinks on grass, stinks on the road and stinks against the wsox...... so that rules them out....... danks, i just dont trust..... 9.5 for the total..... are you kidding? but do we seriously want to play an under here..... maybe...... that is until i read, the wsox are 51-25 to the over in last 51 against the NL (as the fav)....... over is also 6-0 in last 6 meetings, so again we pass...
mil/tex: you back the brewers here or pass, simple as that..... rangers are a shocking 8-26 in their last 34 as a home dog under (+1.50)..... that is pretty good info.... so do we trust the brewers on the road.... maybe, file this away......
bos/az: not even looking, probably value in Az here but its better for me to pass this one........
sea/sd: the over is 10-2 in last 12 but not for me at petco..... sea 15-6 in last 21 interleague but sd is 17-5 in their last 22.... the play would have to be the padres in this one, the price isnt bad (-1.28)...... file it away as a possible play......
sf/oak: this one is easy, its either oak or the under..... better yet, pass (maybe) man gaudin has been tough.......
tor/lad: value players will be all over tor but i need a winner and i cant lay ($2) not even on penny...... pass again.....
getting tired now but it appears, ill be looking closer at (cubs, mil, sd) and the over in stl/laa.........
possibly back later, im taking a nap now.......
