Spyware..Need help please!!

Does anyone know of a free program to remove spyware that works?? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Spybot works great. Don't know the URL off the top of my head but just Google "Spybot" and you'll find it.

Also is 12505 what you are seeing when running botcheck? (# of known problems checking for)

Oldmantime, I believe as you update that number increases over time, mine is at 13455 or somthin...


PS, make sure u update, there is new updates as of 3/04 and 3/09

If you have no problems, then it's working...


Also, I have noticed that it takes a considerable amount of time to get the d/l going for the updates, just be patient.

I allways thought that the good spys--were hard to find in the real world. Maybe not so in the computer world.

As for updates--I did that a few days ago and it said no new updates. That's why I asked about the 12505 number!
Like I figured.

After checking for an update to Spybot agian and no new one showed up, I sent an email to Spybot asking about why I could only get the version with 12505 problems, when I had heard there was a new one with over 13000.
I'll see what comes of that.

Oldmantime, correction, sorry, mine has 12,651, but that's only cause I've been running it longer then you have, I believe...

Make sure you run a scan after you did the update..

Ad-aware 6.0 is pretty good too and it's free.

Go to downloads.com and they have a section on adware removal. Lots to choose from to try out.

Spy Sweeper is another quality freebie, and it finds a few items that Adaware & Spybot miss.
