Spysweeper-Help Please

I bought Spysweeper today and it found 69 spyware cookies which I quarantined.
But every few seconds a little box in the lower right of computer screen comes up to tell me "Spysweeper Internet Communication Shield has blocked access to" one website after another that I'm not even trying to view. Spysweeper says these websites are attempting to communicate with my computer? WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? Any help or info is greatly appreciated.

I wouldn't panic. It could just be blocking pop ups or other ads.

You should be able to reset in your Preferences so that the little Alert window does not pop up each time SS blocks a popup advertiesment.

I think you are right about that. But HOW in the WORLD, are all these websites "trying to communicate with my computer", when I'm only on Yahoo homepage or here? How do they even know I'm on line??I'm certaintly not on their website. That's the scary part, maybe computer has a virus.
I found a trojan a couple days ago that was in my Java files whatever that is. But the crazy part is that CA (my virus program did not stop it). Finally found out it was only a file in the temporary Java program that only needed to delete cache. But I don't understand why CA did not block it.

The biggest problem for me anyway; is the name game. What is a virus and what is spyware. Spyware sounds more scary, but a Virus can lead to identity thieft or what?:think2:

First spysweeper is the best imo i have use it here for over 4yrs.did you do a complete sweep once you had the new protection in place.also you should have 13 shields up at all time......ck ps also you should set it up to do a complete sweep each nite say while you are sleeping etc to check out the day surfing etc....ck

Check to see if your firewall is on also.

If you are getting that many, it sounds like it's just cookies that it's blocking (most of which aren't really harmful)

What do you mean 13 shields up at all times? (Yes I did a complete sweep)
Do you use the Spysweeper Virus program or just the Spy program?? I see they have a virus program for sale too. Thanks

Right 13 shields running. The pop-up screen or whatever it's called has about stopped.
I still can't figure how all those websites "try" to communicate with my computer. I agree also with TT that cookies are no big deal, from my reading so far.
