Facing a bullet it has to be SA and their 17 (or is it 16?) game home win streak. Don't so quickly forget Games 1 and 2. There is a world of separation between home and road for these teams (for most teams in the playoffs). But I think the 5 is a line that makes sense. And when you see it combined with a rather high ML (+221/-247 at Pinny) that tells you something. Buying to -2-170 might make some sense here.

I just dont understand how last year the lakers get the cover in this spot (open 2.5 close +3.5, lose by 2) and this year the lakers come back with a much better team so naturually its going to be a spurs blowout and theyll cover 5 this time even though they couldnt cover 3.5 last time.

What happened in one game last year is hardly statistically significant.
The Lakers just aren't that good. A Martian who just looked at their stats and games all year round would conclude that the Spurs are the clearly superior team.
The Lakers have big names. Malone and Payton additions have helped the team, but only slightly. The bad chemistry and distractions, infigting, has never been worse.
Terrible spot for them off backto back wins.
