Spring has finally arrived in the Midwest and the weather still sucks

Though the weather has been improving the past few weeks it has been a cold last 2 months. Can't wait for this crap to come to an end.

I love the changing of the seasons but they all seem to drag on a little to long for my liking.

Hard to beleieve but in less than 6 weeks it is May.

Was 70 last week here in Champaign when i got back from the daily upper 70's around the gulf.

Is going to be upper 60's/lower 70's from here on out mostly too, at least thats what the forecast says.

Can't wait until I move to southern California in a year or two, specifically the Imperial Valley area.

You guys would never handle it here in Newfoundland then if you think the weather where your from sucks.

Our seasons go something like this

2 months summer
2 months crap
6 months winter
2 months crap

Our weather report for today is

Light Snow
22 degrees
8 degrees with the wind chill
35 mile an hour wind gusts

When may comes and you guys are in the 80's and sunny just remember here its probaly going to be in the 50's and foggy or even snowing I've played golf in the middle of may in a snow storm before.

So just remember it could be worse.

My wife is from Grande Prairie Alberta, so i know a thing or two about Canada. Not much good has been heard by me about Newfoundland though LOL

What do you do there for a living, I have heard unemployment is HIGH and you also have a strange time zone...1 1/2 hours ahead of new york, i get the 1 hour part, but the 1/2 hour??

Sunny and 81 here in Houston as summer begins to set in...we have spring for about 2 weeks and then the heat kicks in....I love it!!

Grande Prairie your wife must of ran into a few Newfies my sister recently moved to alberta so did a few of my buddys theres actually just as many Newfoundlanders living outside Newfoundland than there is living in Newfoundland and most of em in Alberta. A lot of people in the rest of Canada think that Newfoundlands actually a lot worse than it is.

Unemployment is fairly high I guess nothing to bad theres a lot of seasonal work around here so a lot of people work most of the year and then go on unemployment over the winter. I only do a bit of construction labour type work nothing special and mess around with some websites maybe I can turn one of them into the next rx lol.

Our time zone is weird an hour and a half ahead of eastern time, the half hour is there I guess becasue we're an island and we're in between 2 times zones so we said screw it split the difference and made up our own lol I dont really know.

Last week it was 83 here wednesday by friday night we had a couple inches of ice , today it's 45, but tomorrow it's suppose to be up near 70.

82 degrees here on the Puget Sound today, going to get cooler tommorow and off and on rain for a week after that.

Seems like we get one or two days of nice weather and it is back to 50's and low 60's with on and off rain.
