Boston Celtics -3.5 1.5 Units

Celtics really rolling, winners of 15 in a row and starting off at a franchise best 23-2. They are clicking on all cylinders. Well aware of the fact that the Hawks pushed them to the limit last season, however I still think the Celts are far and away the better team. The Celtics defense is the best that I have seen in a long time. Over the course of last season and so far this season, their defense has been amazing. They are holding opponents to around 40% from the field, while only allowing 910 ppg. Well aware of the Hawks 9-1 record, but I am far more impressed with the Celtics 9-1 road record. Celts have not lost focus at all, something rarely seen from a defending champion. Celts are the better offensive team, the better FT shooting team, the better rebounding team, and have the better defense. Will play this a little smaller, as not sure how Pierce will play. However, he took part in the morning shootaround and all indications are that he is a go.

New Orleans Hornets -2 2 Units

Spurs are hot, winning 6 straight, however New Orleans is playing good ball also. Both teams are 8-2 in their past 10 games. I remember thinking during last season's playoffs, that the Hornets were the better team. Spurs proved me wrong. However, I think the Hornets revenge that playoff loss tonight. Hornets have actually won 4 of the past 5 games against the Spurs in New Orleans. Hornets are younger, more athletic. Spread is too small here.

1-1 on the Night....

1-1 on the night, but grind out a slight profit.

Hell of a comeback by the Hornets, who went on an improbable 13-0 run at the end of the fourth quarter. Still have no idea how they came back to win, let alone cover.

Got hooked with the Celts. They proved why they are the best team in the league once again tonight. They were getting beat the majority of the game, yet used great defense and timely shots to come back and win on the road. Funny thing is I usually either buy off of 3.5 to 3, or just moneyline a game like this. For some reason tonight I decided against it. Cost us some money there.

Well, I had the reverse - won Atlanta at +5 and the Under, lost on the Spurs (tho I did have a crazy parlay which included the Hornets - which won and saved my butt).
