I'm fairly new to the Rx, however, not new to the world of betting. I seem to really like this forum, so I'll throw my two cents in and go from there. I play a system that I really enjoy. In football when people play the lines they usually have to win at least 63% of the time to make money. What I do is play the percentage. I look at games that I believe are 50/50 games, then I usually take the underdog. To make money here, you just need to win 48% of the time. Although I don't go into details on why I think certain games are 50/50, I will say I devote a lot of time in it. Also, the best time to get the lines is the night before. Best of luck.

Not all the time. Colorado opened +120, (yesterday noon time at Bookmaker), and +125 at Pinny later in the afternoon.

This morning +137 was available at Matchbook, +135 at most other dimeline shops. Currently dropping back to the opening lines at most shops.

+125 on the Kings is a bad number and no doubt +150 will be available late tonight. (Currently +143 up right now at Matchbook)

Please don't take this as a bash. Only tossing out my persective. I'm with you on Colorado and perhaps the Kings if I can get +150 or better.

I'll echo VIC by noting that often it's preferable to wait until late afternoon or even up to last half/quarter hour before drop for many prices.

I'll then concur with new PucksterFriend SB that overnight* pricing for at least 5Dimes is a DimeLine, which is helpful to either side

*At 5Dimes, next day "overnight" prices are available on the internet up until the current night's games are fully concluded.

They don't rehang the DimeLine prices til around noon EDT on game day.

Absolutely not taking it as a bash, in fact I welcome all feedback. I believe that is what forums are for. And you are correct, it isn't always the best, I feel though that over a long period of time, that it does seem to be the more effective way. Not gonna lie, it does suck when you take it over night and then wake up to see that the line had moved in your favor.

YTD 1-1 (+25)

Buffalo +135
Nashville +150 (I feel this game is closer than it seems, Nashville could either get the upset, or they could get blown out. However, I like the value in it.)

Good Luck All.

Hey thanks, I've been betting hockey for the past 10 years. As far as record, or average record....couldn't tell ya, never kept a journal of it or anything. Figured I could kinda do that here and give my two cents for what it's worth.

Yes, and I believe that the reason why is that your majority of betters love to bet on the favorites, and rightfully so, after all they are expected to win. Because of this, when you can identify value in an underdog you have an overwhelming advantage. Kinda like I stated earlier, instead of having to win 63% of the time, instead you need to win about 48% of the time. If you can get games that are "toss-ups" then you stand a good chance of making some dough. I use this method in other sports, basketball, boxing, sort of in soccer, but to me hockey has the best value. Frankly, because it doesn't get the "pub" the other sports do. I hope this helped to answer your question, and yes I do pretty well. There's times where I hit a losing streak but the law of average is on my side. :103631605

LoL well....guess he has a good name, but I am clearly not associated with him, when I was making my name it seemed as though everything that I wanted was taken. The name just kinda came to me and it said it was available. Had I known it was already here without the space I would have come up with something else. If it's a buddy of yours, tell 'em sorry no harm meant.
