I have an idea that will keep your book financially stable, even in an event of most gamblers winning their wagers.

I trust you're not talking about betting off money so that all bets are balanced and the book wins on the vig from the losing side.

My idea is really sinmple I think. And if a book is not willing to do it it's their loss. I would implement a way like the online trading system does it. They charge for every trade someone makes. Why can't a book charge a nominal fee for every wager placed? My idea is to charge 1.00 for every wager placed(sports betting only)10.00 and over. Under 10.00 no fee. That will at least be a guarantee of something these sportsbooks can get back without having to go to extreme measures to save yourselves.

Gee, guess you never heard of betting exchanges??? As for the fee, if you charge that on top of the vig you won't get a soul to play with you...well at least not players that aren't regulars down with Caliente books. No one will pay a fee, that is what the vig is for!

In Exchanges they do not charge a fee for non- horse racing wagers. And for placing a wager where the bet is at For Example a +200 number The book should still charge a nominal fee of 1.00 for bets 10.00 and over.

So... you want the book to charge the player $1 for every $2000 wager he wins???
Let's see.... 3 wins -$6000 + $3 (fee)= -$5997

HMMMMM...

$1 fee on all wagers over $10?

I would quit school and middle my way to an early retirement within a week.

Lobster2014,

suggestions are always good to hear. This one would be a bad idea as we already pay $.05 or more now per dollar. Adding another dollar would not be good marketing. I understand not all here are experts. I hope you understand the scenerio a bit more.

Good luck

The General

Thanks for clearing that up for us. It appears, however, that some are rather less expert than others.
