I don't even know what to say anymore. I have been sportsbetting for a long time so no one can say I am inexperienced. My last nerve has been shot by getting fucked repeatedly on games. It is just unfathomable to me that so many games that so clearly should go one way wind up going the exact opposite way. Last week I take Ole Miss who had the game in the bag but manage to fumble TWO TIMES at the 1 yard line when they were about to run in for a TD. No one could have seen that coming. Not any professional bettor, not any tout or any bookie. No one could know that was going to happen unless the game was fixed. Now this week I take Miami who is clearly a team on the rise and they have mounds of talent. The completely DOMINATE UNC in the 1st qtr. Then for some reason after that, they just stop. Then UNC decides to bring in a 3rd string QB that hasn't started a game in a long time and he just dominates Miami. Now this guy is a 3rd stringer for a reason. Because he sucks ass! Hasn't started a game in so long but comes in cold and plays like a stud. How the fuck is it possible? Miami has played so well thus far and has been winning their games. Obviously their coach knew what to do in those games but all I am reading here is that their coach was terrible in this game and he blew it by calling bad plays etc etc. These are just two examples from that past two weeks. In the past few years I have probably been screwed by a thousand games with inexplicable shit happening just like this.

Sportsbetting is futile. There is no point to handicapping and trying to study games. No matter how much you study, you will wind up getting fucked in the end.

sometimes they work in your favor, sometimes against you. In the long run, the breaks even out and good fundamental handicappers win.

I feel your pain but I have come to the conclusion that you just have to have fun with it. If that means starting with a set bankroll at the beginning of the season, or flat betting (bet the same amount every game) or get in pools that pay off big in the end but cost littel to get in. Personally I flat bet, I never win much, never lose much and in the last three college and NFL football season i have come out ahead.

If you flat bet all you need to do is win 52% of your games.. and you break even. I have done about 55% the last three seasons. Havent won much, but didnt get killed either and outlasted my friends...the ones who go 3-0 in the morning and then roll all the winnings into one game and lose....they go 3-1 on the day and end up losing money......a bookies dream...bet big when your up.

And that's why books and casinos are and always be in business.

And a microscopic percentage of people can sustain a living doing this.

Because like you just said, nobody knows what the hell is going to happen once people step on a playing field regardless of sport.

Really, it's just a guess that you are basing on your knowledge of the sport, teams and players. We "like" this team because we "think" this may happen because of these "reasons."

And to hell with crunching statistcal data based on trends or whatever happened in the past. It has absolutely nothing to do with what will happen in the future, whether its year to year or week to week.

That isn't true. If that were true then I should be getting about 5 straight years of good luck to equal out all the times I have gotten screwed in games. I better win the Mega Millions lottery tomorrow. Only that could equal out all the times I was fucked over.

In the past 5 years, my screw jobs have outperformed my good luck probably 1000 to 10.

What really gets me is that the teams I bet on and get screwed, my teams dominate the whole game in every stat category possible but somehow my team still manages to lose!

Last week Ole Miss dominated every facet of the game but still lost. Today Miami dominated every facet of the game but still lost.

And they're temperamental spoiled babies who on the whole don't have the drive anymore, and with the talent level so even there it's no wonder... any given Sunday.

You know, if the ridiculous things that have happened to me never happened then I would agree with you. But not after what has happened to me.

I understand parity in the NFL and not much separating the teams. But every time I like a favorite they somehow manage to lose the game and every time I like an underdog, they manage to get their asses kicked. When I just watch games and not bet on them, the favorites win like 90% of the time. It only seems to not go that way when I bet on them.

You really have to understand the severity of how many times I have been screwed in the past few years. It is nowhere near to being equal. The games I get screwed on too are always some amazing thing that no one can believe happened. The games I have gotten screwed on will be shown on ESPN where the announcers will start off talking about the game like this, "Bizarre ending today in Miami" or something like "Amazing finish to this game today." It's always the most incredible shit.

Don't let anyone tell you different.

I feel your pain. Trust me, I feel your pain.

I have lost too many parlays in my days. And real bad losses (on good picks) on the last games of huge paying parlays.

I was on Miami today too.. had Paplebon, K-Rod, blow big leads this year, Jays? HA! should have won plenty $$$ in baseball this year, but fluky things happened too often. Needed Illinois at Iowa LAST year for huge $. Georgetown losing to Davidson hurt (A lot were hurt by those jackasses I guess...)!

I find I have become good at taking losses and looking on the bright side though...

I can't help but think we had some same picks Chairman.

I'm thinking it may be time to end this shit soon and/or just play for fun... I know I am good at this. But with all my screw jobs I've had it's almost like I am cursed like I'm sure you feel you are. Gotta think we're due for a LONG string GOOD LUCK!

I've got a few bullets left in the account, not sure if you do too, but if so hopefully our posting here can start a turnaround! Lets get it Chairman!

GL everybody

That is why its gambling.

I have been betting football for about 15 years. Out of those years there was only 4 years where I made a lot of money. Those four years I was a bookie.
