Wondering if anyone can suggest a good sports pager. I want one that updates almost every 2 minutes with the score and situation, not just the score and quarter. I need to know the time left in the game. Someone suggested the motorola advisor elite??

Never had a problem.
I also have used Beep Me Las Vegas

in the past....They are both fine and unless you are out in the sticks...not an issue.

I use the sports now pager. A pager store sells them here in Houston for $149. This guy has the master cap code for the service, which means they cant cancel your service. I have had my pager for over 5 years and never had a problem. I did drop it once and it did not work until the I took the pager to have in realigned for $5 and it works great.

Here is the site that sells the pagers legit;;;;

I've used both (SportsNow customer for the past 7 years) and more recently The Sports Page customer currently ...

SportsNOW - many books to choose from for updating lines. Service is sometimes out due to weather related issues. Pager is bigger than most, unless you want the smaller one, which is known to have reception issues.

The Sports Page - faster updates for scores and lines, but only offer 3 books for line (Stardust, Mirage and Offshore). Pager is smaller, reception is excellent. Cheaper pricing as well. My only GRIPE is they do NOT list the ROTATION number next to the teams, which is a PITA when trying to find a line on a game.

Hope this helps.

I bought the Motorola CP-1250. It updates every 2 minutes for scoring, and about 23-25 time a day for line updates.

I'm very pleased with their product.

You have to click around to access it.
The thread was about dedicated sports pagers..

The Sprint idea is great if you dont mind navigating around...Also you get line updates with the actual sports pagers...

Thanks

Updates every 2 minutes? Why that specific number?

Anyway, Sports Now and The Sports Page are probably your best options for the moment (one is no better than the other). But this delayed info isn't so good.

I can tell you there is a new sports pager coming out on the market that uses better technology than either of these places, and has real time scores, not every 2-6 minutes.

I dont have any info to present yet. I only know about it because I know the guys rolling it out very well and am doing a little work with them here and there. Their web site is still just showing a place holder, so my guess is that they aren't ready to release info on it yet, but believe they are to be launching it in about 4 weeks.

One thing that sets it apart is the technology. Sports Now and Sports Page are using pager models that are around a decade old (Advisor Gold through CP1250) and are one way pagers with no standard service. Those models will be offered by these guys, along with more advanced two way models that come with complete use aside from the sports services. They're also working on the second iteration of the service for the end of the year, which will use windows based cell phones as an option.

But, I imagine these details are lost on most people. I think for most, the real time info is the main item of importance. Their service is also being implemented in Central and South America as well, for anyone in those regions.
