The guy in the article (Dave Cokin), I believe, has been known over all the years as far more a tout than player.

So.... this article carries quite a bit of a "Steve Stevens" vibe with it.

One part of the article stands out:

"The only way you can be a professional sports gambler is if you have the discipline to stick to two or three games a day"

100% wrong. You never know when valuable opportunities may present themselves. Depending on your handicapping methods, you could find 20 worthwhile games to bet on one given day and then not find any for weeks. Obviously, if you're finding 20 games you think have value every single day, you probably need to reevaluate your handicapping methods. But I've gone entire weekends without betting a single college or NFL game because I thought all the lines sucked.

Sticking to some arbitrary number is silly.

Yep, Dave used bet, but I doubt he does now. He was a Jim Feist guy, now with pregame. Did you know he's on the board for the boxing hall of fame. That was something new I learned today.

I've only known Cokin as a tout.......not surprising he was a bookie. Just like any other market when its taking off, he got in the tout service racket at the right time.

Living on gambling winnings was possible from 1998-2006 on the internet with big bonuses and scalping along with Pinnacle, Olympic & WWTS, WSEX & with the help of Neteller.

Jim Feist is from.my area & I was told he had stiffed several bookies locally before he made it as a big tout.

There are several guys that put out magazines that are worth a read like Marc Lawrence.......

As for Coming, I don't know much about whose what in the tout business & whose successful........is Colin in the same category as Stu Feiner, The Duke, Dr Ron Bash? LoL@ at those guys on Saturday morning TV back in the day......in college, we sat around Saturday morning watching these guys & laughing at their lies.

The Duke use to jump around & roll on the floor.......I remember my friend calling one guy in the early 90's & the guy had given us 5 straight Monday night parlays & he hit all of them. Bailed out my cousin one week from being down $4,500 to being up $2,100......it was a sick swing for him & the bookie was furious, lol!

Cokin had to be sucking some major ass to get this article.

As I said, this story has a total Steve Stevensish air about it.

This sad commentary is spot on and says it all. That was the golden age. Pitchin' pennies on the sidewalk these days. Sucks!

From a phone bro.... auto correct. . Combined with my fat fingers...

You know what's messed up is this topic is so completely untapped.. A day in the life of a real handicapper... they don't have to give away their systems or amything... anyway... sadly these producers and writers want to focus on steve Stephens and all of his DIRT BAG FUKKING LIERS.
