I'm trying to start a sports database for the upcoming football season, but having a hard time getting started..anyone recommend a good, easy, software for a database?..thanx..

i don't know how much it costs persay, but i use TOAD here at work, and its a great DB software. Oracle only..

cheap wizard = access
reliable = mysql or postgresql
stored procedures/triggers etc. firebird/mssql/oracle

if you need an auto parser...
rent an *nix server for almost
200 x month.. then program
your stuff in perl/php/python...
let the perl modules to auto parse
the information and do your
statistics/algorithms.. etc...

if that is to hard for you...
then use excel or access and
wake up everymorning very early
and type your own information...

I have never used it but some reviewers "claim" that its much better/cheaper than access

newbie,i'm very computer illiterate..i'll try access, hopefully it'll be easy to set up..
