I wasn't really sure where to put this thread as it's not directed at any particular sport or handicapping topic. Please forgive mods if it's in the wrong spot...
I'm coming off a long run in online poker botting but got tired of the cat and mouse game of staying one step ahead of the botting security. In poker botting, it's common for groups of people to get together to form what's called a "lab" where members of the group share resources and work together on a private poker bot that each member can use on their own. The idea is to get more people sharing the brainstorming and coding to make the system as accurate and robust as possible. Members can leverage their strengths and avoid their weaknesses, and if one person has to leave the production doesn't shut down.
I've seen one attempt at a sort of open source system proposed for handicapping mlb, but haven't seen coordination among members to this level demonstrated publically. It'd be foolish for me to think members aren't working together for their own collective benefit (and why shouldn't they?), but is it sports betting etiquette to keep these arrangements behind closed doors? Is even discussing something like this off topic for this board?
