Like boxing, they are often too quick to stop the fight

Just builds up more drama for the rematch. Lidell dominated this fight, and the last one.Going to the cards does nothing for the rematch. Now Tito has an excuse, and will get his ass beat again. Dana WHite is silenting laughing!!!

I just watched the end of the fight again and one 1 punch connected...only one punch.

Why the fuck would Tito not be pissed? Guess he only cares about his bullshit drama on TV. Fuck that...that was not a stoppage at all.

I just don't understand why he wasnt pissed about the stoppage?

Ortiz is really starting to bother me. I thought the world of him for getting up from that first barrage in Round 1. How can he not be pissed at the stoppage?

Shows how much he really wanted this fight..

Trust me, after Dana, Tito and Chuck all sit down again, Tito will be angry about the stoppage, and this will be the backstory to the rematch. This isn't the old ufc anymore. Big money is at stake and they are going the boxing route. Why the hell do you think we saw 3 Ortiz Shamrock fights? There will be a rematch sometime late in 07 and it will be another ass-whooping by Chuck. Ufc is not about the fighting anymore(big matches) it's about the characters and story. Tune into pride to see real mma at its purest.

Btw Maybe Tito caught herpes from Jenna Jameson?...lol

I hate to be a dick but Tito was not intelligently defending himself. Rolling into a fetal ball is not defending yourself. There was nothing wrong with the stoppage.

Like I said...I have a feeling he wanted the fight to end. Any fighter with a true heart for fighting would have rolled out or would have protested to death after the fight.

Funny how some of you guys believe Tito didn't really want to fight, because Chuck Liddell accused him of the same thing on ESPN's "Quite Frankly" when both were on the other night. (I usually don't watch that show but did for this interview). Liddell was saying that Tito is a guy who really doesn't enjoy fighting or likes to fight and is probably just in it for the fame. Remember, these guys go back to a time when they both really weren't that big in the sport yet, so Chuck would probably know that about him.
I think Liddell would have won anyway, but if the ref didn't stop the first barrage, he probably should have let the second one go a little longer because it did look like most of the punches were hitting Tito's hand and not directly on his head.
I don't know if there will be a 3rd rematch anytime soon. I think if Dana White is smart he tries to get some guys from Pride over to the UFC to challenge Liddell. He is 37 but like Couture he probably will still be fighting until his early 40's unless someone special comes along to knock him off. Tito might have to drop to 185 or just wait for Liddell to get upset or retire??? I really like Bisping, I hope he continues to get better. Also thought Forrest would win. Look like he fell down against the fence and started crying and then... what did he say to Joe Rogan???...couldn't here in the sports bar I was at.

Griffen was acting like a complete baby. What a tool. He told joe that he got his ass beat then walked away and came back and said that he would be back then ran to the lockers like a puppy with his tail between his legs...

Went 2-1 last night and how could you not be impressed with Jason "the athlete" McDonald! This guy is on the rise. Don't care if I ever see that punk Lebon ever fight again.

It doesn't matter, the punches weren't connecting, or doing damage. Just look at the first round! Much worse than the stoppage in my opinion, but they let that go. Either way tito would of lost, but looked like a bad call. Ref just saw the hailstorm of punches and thought they were connecting.

Tito was done, the punches may not have been connecting cleanly but Tito wanted out, he basically said so in his post fight interview. UofO, great call on McDonald. Love guys with great JJ. Chuck is at the top of his game. If you don't get him down and KEEP him down, he ain't losing.

He also tore his ACL three weeks ago and didn't tell anyone, so Chuck is probably done for 07. Plenty of time for Cro-Cop to destroy the heavyweight division then come down to 205 and fight Chuck next year. Don't be surprised if Wandy is the next to jump ship.

The second tier LHW division will provide some good matchups this coming year....Babalu, Bisping, Evans, Griffin, Dean of Mean, might as well throw Tito in there. None of these guys are in Chuck's league, but area all good fighters.

Also, anyone catch the last fight with Ganzaga, that guy could be a player in the HW division.

Actually it does matter. Some of the punches landed. In MMA if you can't intelligently defend yourself the fight is stopped. It's really that simple. Tito wasn't intelligently defending himself. He knows the rules, that's why he had no issue with the stoppage.

make sure you only wager on k-1 mma events from now on

i guarantee the level of ref competance would be up to your golden standards, especially when saku is fighting
