...for a GREAT 2009 LAS VEGAS BASH...!!! !~~~!

What a great time we all had.....

Much thanks to Marty and Rick for ponying up for a great party.....it was first class all the way.....The Mod dinner on Friday night, might honestly have been the best steak i ever had......you know its pretty good when its almost 40.00 and then they ask if u would like to "add" a potato or salad.....it was just delicious, as Wil can attest, i let him have a bite as well.....the other guys had fillets but were eying the Strips that Betall and I had......i will never forget the "wine" Marty......thanks to Rick and Marty being so genial as well, to us little peons, they are very welcoming hosts....

And just for Marty, i am starting a 2nd paragraph here to make it easier to read...d1g1t

The Banquet itself, was absouletly great as it always is....those filet mignons were awesome as was the other food...everyone at our table was raving about the food the whole meal.......the Golden Nugget really does put out a nice spread of food and its usually prepared to a T

Thanks to Wil and SS for planning all this stuff and making sure there were lots of things going on for all the rx'ers that were there...these guys were diligent in their duties and it showed......the party went off without a hitch.....

Also thanks to BetJamaica , BetPhoenix and Skybook, for their generosity in donating prizes for the party.....the drawings went on for almost 30 minutes due to all the prizes donated, so it made it great for the posters to increase odds of everyone winning something......special thanks to PornoPaul as well for his contributions for the giftbags....

Unfortunately, some of us mods and Dante had all written our speeches we were to make....many of us spent hours in our room honing the speeches and fine tuning the wording to make them special....all to be told by Marty at the last minute that they were invoking the "fishhead clause" and no mods would be allowed near any of the micorphones....so our time was wasted....:think2:

These sponsors helping out are what make the bash even better than it would be, and i hope that not only the guests but many of the other posters here realize that and throw them a bone during foots....it certainly makes it better for all of us, if we do......

And for the MANY, MANY familiar faces i saw this year, and the new ones as well......

MrLeisure, was great to see you again buddy.....he is one fun guy, and great to hang out with......always a pleasure to see him

JeffKSU, one of my favorite people around.....he and his wife are simply great people, no other way to put it......i was extremely dissappointed they could not attend the banquet as we have always sat together, but he did make a special trip down to say hi, and hurry through the poker tourney, and it made the day even better....i wish Amy had made it, but there is next year....also got to see the pictures of the new baby, and what a cutie she is.....WOW

Kermit, is always great to see our Vegas friend...this guy knows sports, booze, and the combo of both....gotta love a guy who's seen it all, and still living it.....sadly he had a small family issue on saturday morn, and couldnt play poker with us, but he made it back for the banquet and it was great that he did.......

Dante, as always, great to see him...guys just loves the bashes and the psoters, and it shows.....he was the first person i spotted on Thursday, and it was great to see him again

GatorCoachLT, another great veteran poster.....thanks for the shirt coach, even though it was gone within 30 minutes.....it was honor to shake your hand again, you are a staple at these bashes........and your young friend coachCB, nice guy as well...enjoyed talking with him in the sportsbook

Patswin, and his beatiful wife Julie....what a really nice couple these 2 are.....had to twice talk Pat into playing in the poker tourney, then gave him a quick crash course on hold 'em before the tourney, and the little S.O.B finishes 3rd and picks up a nice payday.....what a great job...they sat with us at dinner and were very friendly...his wife is a very pretty lady, and quite personable as well....really glad we had the pleasure to meet them and enjoy the dinner with them...

Gravy and Viejo....man these guys are what i'm used to.....sitting around the sportsbook , drink in one hand, racing form in other, and capping every race......what fun we had, and it was a pleasure to meet both...Gravy sat with us at dinner as well, and was very accomodating to my mom which i appreciate.......Arturo, thanks for the cap my friend

Akillies, was good to see you again, and hang out betting the horses....antoher great job in the poker tourney my friend

Fairwarning was good to see you again as well my friend...enjoyed talking with you in the sportsbook......

Kiss-1 was good to see you again as well....we had fun til our run ended at the hands of the "killer" at our table...wiped us all out...

Some new faces i got to meet, TomGshotput, DJMatt, Quantumleap, Gyno, Rightside, Betall, SportSavant, Sharky99, PornoPaul, BillPapa, Red007....was a pleasure meeting you guys...hope to see you again

also special thanks to one of the new faces i met and really enjoyed hanging out with JakePeavy21....what a great kid this is...knows his sports as much as anyone, and is just fun to talk to.....I also owe him a special thanks for escorting my mom into the banquet while i worked some at the reg desk, he took care of her, entertained her, and was really just a gentleman......for that i cant thank him enough...he made her feel very welcome, and she ended up enjoying the banquet immensely....he even got her a drink at the bar and they talked about some of the places they had traveled, etc......this guy is just A-1 in my book...

I decided to bring my parents this year, for my mom's birthday and let them have a nice trip...but my stepdad just didnt feel up to it, as he's not much of a gambler anyway, but he told mom to go if she wanted, he had no issue with it....so i brought her for her b-day, and got tickets to see Terry Fator at the Mirage (her favorite entertainer) right now......she basically spent the rest of the time, shopping, sight seeing, by the pool, etc....she had a great time, and the show was UNBELIEVABLE, but she was worried that she wouldnt fit in at the banquet, and didnt want to take up a spot....but everyone said she was welcome and she came, and had a blast.....special thanks again to Gravy, Red007, Patswin and Julie, Rightside, GatorCoach, and JakePeavey for making her feel so welcome....she really had GREAT things to say about the rx group.......she said she felt completely welcome.....she also thinks Marty is VERY handsome, and likes Rick because he's a dead ringer for Terry Fator.......thanks to both of them as well for greeting her, and making her feel welcome.....SportSavant tried to kick her out of her room, but besides that, it all went well....

I know there are a few others that i'm forgetting as the whiskey tends to kill the memory, in fact there are 2 people right now, that i can see that i cant remember th posting handle, that i enjoyed talking to....as soon as the names come to me, i will thank them as well......

But thanks to everyone who attended, and made this party special and possible....it was a great time as usual, and hopefully Dante has already started the countdown to next year....

Bucs, I LOVED your mother! It doesn't hurt that she graduated from Florida Southern College in Lakeland in 1984. OBTW, that was the same year my son enrolled in FSC. Both son and daughter graduated from FSC also. Who wouda thunk it. Me and your mom will forever be linked.

Great job ALL you RX mods and others did. Thanks, LT:103631605

Bucsfan, great meeting you also. Good post. Wil did a great job. It was nice to finally meet Marty. Dante is awesome! Sportsavant is a blast to hang out with! The Golden Nugget was impressive. I'm very happy I made the trip.

One thing, I've read in several posts that I'm CoachLT's "young friend". Yes, I am MUCH, MUCH younger than his crusty old ass....but, I turn 39 in a week! So next summer when I see you guys again I'll be a few weeks from my 40th!! Just PM me if you want tips on how to maintain a youthful appearance!!

You give me those tips, and i'll give you SOB's tips on how not to have to take a "nap" in Vegas....:)<<

If i heard that once on Friday, i heard it 10 times in the sportsbook...everytime Gravy and I would turn around, someone was going up to take a "quick nap" before the evening......its Vegas for god's sake, who sleeps?

cracked me up....:grandmais
