Wizzah- On NBA you'll find them at most books but on colleges, they usually only put first half lines up on the TV games. Last year the offshore industry booked 30 times the action that the state of Nevada did and I think it was probably more like 50 times.
Las Vegas is a complete has been in the sports betting world. 95% of the wise guys that used to bet here left or were run out of the local sportsbooks long ago. They all bet offshore now.

Why any serious sports bettor would bet in the books in Vegas is beyond me. Bob is right on in his assessments. I live two minutes away (if I walk slowly) from the Strip and if I counted the number of bets I've made in a sportsbook here in town this year on one hand I'd still have 5 fingers left over.
I had a conversation with a guy who worked with me last night. We were talking about the Aussie Open tennis and he was saying he had made a few future bets at the Palms. He took Nalbandian at 8-1 and I had him at 13-1 offshore. I was telling him about a female I got at 66-1 to win, and said I just wanted her to make the quarters then I could fade her. He was like "wow you can bet on each match". I said "every single one".
The public is truly clueless. If the books just closed up shop in town, I wouldn't miss a beat.
