Can anybody help me stop spam freaking mail! It is pissing me off so bad, I am tired of deleting and have this crap clogging up my mailbox. I tried a while ago to report it to my ISP but they were pretty much useless. How can I at least minimize it or get back at them?

I remember I read this article where they were giving "legal" ways to get back at spammers both email and fax. For email they gave an address to get an attachment from it that is so large to someone who downloads it, that it completely renders their computer useless for a day. For fax, they said to send a black sheet of construction paper to make an ink mess or tape several sheet of paper (with something small in the middle of the sheet if you prefer) together and send it continously to the spammers fax # so it uses up all their papers! Kids don't try this at home

Change your email address....it's the only real solution.

These spammers ought to all be shot right between the f'ing eyes. This shit has gotten WAY out of hand.

TTinco,
This is the smartest thing I think you've said since joined the forum ...

.. seriously though, you're right ... this shit is border-line harrassment ... it's fuking annoying.

My <old> hotmail accounts get 70+ spams a day ... i've used my 250 address blocks up, so now I'm defenseless ...

.. it's sheer torture - I rather watch Butternutts shave his ass hair that have to delete all this crap each day.

Sure if you have your own Mail Server & want to read threw 20,000 pages of configuring SendMail ...

... the problem is that most of us rely on our ISP for mail & it's up to them ... and frankly they're too busy to keep it 100% spam proof (or even 2% .. lol)

Also, some email software allows for HUGE blocked sender lists ... but you'll have to update that one yourself (ie Outlook Express .. buggy)

One of my providers allows me to filter emails based on the contents in the subject, sender's name, etc. I.e. emails that have the text 'casino' in the subject and that do not come from William Hill are automatically been placed in another folder, which I never open. It takes some time to filter everything properly and it now sometimes does happen that emails get into my JUNK filter that should arrive in my normal INBOX, but I do not see any better way of doing it.

What I actually fancy is if we start at least a black list of bookmakers/casinos that shamelessly will sell ones email.
