(Sports Network) - The Boston Red Sox try to get back on the winning track this evening when they continue their season-long road trip in Minnesota with the opener of a three-game set against the Twins at the Metrodome. On Thursday, the Sox found themselves on the wrong end of a 4-1 decision against the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards. Curt Schilling (12-5) was tagged with the loss, as he allowed seven hits and four runs over seven frames. David Ortiz spoiled the Orioles' combined shutout bid with two outs in the ninth inning, as he slugged his 27th home run of the year for Boston, which had a three-game winning streak stopped. Heading to the hill tonight for the Red Sox will be righthander Bronson Arroyo, who is unbeaten in his last four starts, but has just one win over that span. In his last outing on Saturday against the Yankees, Arroyo was hammered for eight runs - six earned - and 10 hits in 5 2/3 frames, but did not receive a decision in his team's 11-10 win. Arroyo has never faced the Twins. Boston, which is in the midst of an 11-game road trip, is 22-27 away from home this season. The Twins, meanwhile, come into tonight's tilt on a winning note after Jacque Jones stroked an RBI single in the 10th inning to lift Minnesota to a 5-4 win over Chicago on Wednesday in the finale of a three-game set at U.S. Cellular Field. Torii Hunter and Lew Ford added solo homers for the Twins, who have won nine of their last 10 games and moved a season-high 13 games over .500. Minnesota starter Carlos Silva worked 6 2/3 innings and allowed four runs and seven hits, but did not figure into the decision. Terry Mulholland (3-3) earned the win with a scoreless frame. Heading to the hill tonight for the Twins will be righthander Kyle Lohse, who is 4-7 on the year with a 4.87 ERA. Lohse is coming off a win in his last start on Sunday against the Baltimore Orioles, as the 25-year-old hurler yielded four runs - three earned - on seven hits over five frames. He has not lasted more than five innings in any of his last three starts. Lohse lost to the Red Sox earlier in the season and is 0-1 lifetime against them with a 4.67 ERA in three starts. Shannon Stewart has hit safely in 15 of his last 17 games and is batting .532 (25-for-47) during that span. The Twins will be beginning a 10-game homestand tonight and are 28-22 at home this season. Minnesota took two of three from the Red Sox earlier in the year at Fenway and has won six of its last nine versus Boston in the Twin Cities.
