Acting as his own agent as he always has, Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling mae a request before the season started to the Red Sox management to either "sign him for next year or he would be moving on"....
"He's been a horse for us," Lucchino said on WEEI after Schilling spoke. "He's been sensational over the years and this is, by no means, meant to be a sayonara to Curt Schilling in any way, shape or form."
It will be interesting to see how this plays out, Schilling will have that extra incentive now, but at this age I think it could go either way if he struggles or gets hurt...
If he has a stellar season it would be interesting to see if he allows Boston to still sign him, he's always been a bit of a maverick, I think he would stick to his word and walk.
