Being conservative I despise everything Democrats stand for.
Having said that I beginning to believe Republicans aren't any
better.

Case in point, McConnell's refusal to use the nuclear option to
get legislation passed.

Representative Bruce Poliquin...
“We have sent border security bills to the Senate that go nowhere.
Sanctuary city bills that get stuck. We stood up against the Iran
nuclear deal. The Senate never even voted on it,” he said. "We have
a very impatient Republican House and a very impatient electorate…
We want to get things done.”

Rep. Mike Rogers...
“The public doesn’t want to hear about process; they want to see us get stuff done,”
“I think there is a very low threshold of tolerance among our electorate right now
for historical process (and) precedent.”

Say what you want about Dirty Harry but he got the job done such as it was.

McConnell is hindering not helping.

Lewandowski: Get On Trump Train Or Lose [VIDEO]

Former Trump campaign adviser Corey Lewandowski has a tough message for GOP members: get on the Trump train or prepare to be voted out of office.

Fox News host Ainsley Earhardt asked Lewandowski Wednesday what he would say to Republicans in Congress who oppose some of Trump’s agenda.

“It’s very simple,” he said. “President Trump was elected to change the country and you can get on board that train or you can lose your next election.”

“The Democrats have a different agenda,” Lewandowski argued. “They’ve forgotten about the people who voted for Donald Trump for change. If you don’t want to provide that change, in eighteen months we’re going to have another election.”

“It’s my recommendation to those Republicans in Congress to get on board,” he said before listing the number of projects on Trump’s agenda, including health care and building the wall. “If you do those things you will get reelected. If you don’t do those things you have failed the American people.”

ruefully hilarious that the most ardent defender found for little donnie at this juncture is the wholly defrocked Lewandowski

it's not the party. Most politicians on both sides are in it for self preservation

It's easy to be the party out of power, all you really have to do these days is say that the unpopular President sucks and enough people nod in agreement that it is a successful strategy.

So then you don't really have ideological and policy discussions within the party (and political discourse is dead in America now in general because the stupidity/emotionally heightened nature of the population), then when they come to govern they have absolutely no direction or clue what they want to do.

That is pretty much how the ruling class or swamp things want it, mass confusion where you can only get small changes on the margins but nothing transformative gets done.

There is a reason there talk about a wall or border security but no real discussion on what US immigration policy in the 21st century should even be. The general population would not be in agreement with the good ole boys on that 1. For the most part...

You are extremely naïve to think that Drumph is there to drain a swamp. The only way to truly drain is to disband our antiquated two party system. Both suck and all of them are only serving their special interests not what the majority of Americans want or believe.

And Trump is trying to change that. He really has no party allegiance. He didn't get corrupted by donors and special interests on the way up. But it's beginning to look like the swamp which is fed by the acid rain of the media may be too wide and too deep. I sure hope not. If Trump fails the whole damned country will become a swamp and we will all drown together.

The "swamp" is not fed by the media but by special interests. That is what is wrong with politics today. Politicians have long stopped representing us and they now are beholden to the money that got them elected. Drumph is not the answer. He is not smart enough and he is heavily influenced by those in his inner circle...and media reports.

lower taxes, fewer regulations, repeal Obamacare, build the wall, improve national security, strengthen our military, defeat ISIS, change the war against terrorism and withdraw from bad / one sided treaties

Trump is working to keep more of his promises than any president in modern history, only the swamp is slowing him down

It's pretty silly to argue he's not keeping his promises, it's actually much worse than that, it's libtarded to do such

Is that a message you actively promote....especially to teens and to younger voters?

We have survived racial segregation, Nixon's crimes, Reagan's dementia, Clinton's sexual infidelity, 9/11, 15+ years of Forever War and add in whatever complaints you wish re Barack Obama.

Count me as one who is extremely bullish on America's future regardless of what donnie does or does not do in whatever time he spends in office. And it's the message I promote to both my peers and my adult children.

I bought into we need a majority in the House. Then I bought
into we need a majority in the Senate. And finally I bought
into we need the Presidency. Now I'm all tapped out. Nothing
more to buy into. Yes it appears I was a sap.

The "swamp" is not fed by the media but by progressive special interests. That is what is wrong with politics today. Fixed your post.

Liberals love spending other people's money...to the point the entire government has become dysfunctional and ungovernable, no matter which party is in charge - red or blue. A "new party" won't change a damn thing.

The 10th article of the Bill of Rights is explicit in pointing out that the federal government should do only those things specifically called for in the Constitution. All others shall remain with the states or the people. Today most of the current federal government consists of functions it was never intended to perform and which it does not perform well.

You're not "fixing" shit with ANY candidate or political party (new or old) until the vast majority of the electorate understands this.
