I know we all take tough beats, I'm not the only one. But after yet another ball busting defeat, I'm really starting to wonder what I have done in a past life to get this treatment. Off the top of my head:
4/2: Papelbon blows a save at +160. 3-1 lead in 9th, Philly loses 4-3 getting only 1 out.
Minny 6-4 lead bottom 9, blown lead when Plough (who had a great game) throws one in the dirt for the tying run, lose in extras at +125.
4/3: Seattle blown lead in 8th, lose in extras. It happens.
4/9: Atlanta leads 4-0 in 9th, Run Line @ +145. Give up 3 for the win and non cover for the RL.
4/14: Another Philly blown save in 9th. This wasn't bad, Atlanta scores 3 in top 8th, Philly 5 in bottom. Still, another blown save.
4/16: Seattle blows a 2-1 lead behind King Felix. 2 out nobody on. Kouzmanoff singles, next guy walks. A ROUTINE 2 hopper to short, he underhands it too high to second, everyone safe. Bases loaded, still leading. Wild pitch ties it, single wins it. +115 down the drain.
Oakland blows yet another 9th inning lead, lose in extras +108
And the icing on the cake, cherry on top, final kick to the teeth.
Today 4/19:
Houston leads 3-1 at +189 bottom 9, Oakland scores 3 to win the game.
Thats PLUS 160, 125, 145, 115, 108, 189. 8.42 units plus the unit lost. 14.42 units lost in the 9th.
BTW, I know it goes both ways. But I have had very few good things happen late. I can think of that Grand Slam by Ike Davis for the over in the 9th. Minnesota got me a win the day after that loss. Thats it.
I'm not asking for every break to go my way, but geezus. Can I just get my fair share?? I mean these games are DONE if I can get a major league closer to get 3 outs. If a shortstop can handle a routine ground ball and make a play made by little leaguers every day.
Thanks for allowing me to vent. Just a rough first 3 weeks of getting my nuts kicked in.
