Hi to all,,

most probably know I play Totals in the NBA,,, whenever Im making a Play (typically 12 midnight) I will ALWAYS Buy the Hook to Land my number solid,,,

I was discussing with a friend this morning my reasoning,,, he said I was crazy,,, Now I think he is CRAZY!!,,, here is my reasoning,,,

Buying the hook costs me 10% more on my play,,
I curently am hitting 60%

I have a Documented 50 losses,, with those losses maybe 15 of them I probably moved the Hook
lets assume I play 100 dollars every play,,, that is an additional loss of 150.00

Now,,, with both of my PUSHES that were documented I removed the Hook,, so that ALONE saved me 200.00, there were 3 more pushes not documeted that I got buy moving the line,,,,
thanks to all

thats easy -120 impossible to beat in the long run you will always remember when it helped you,but if you add up all that extra juice on your losers you will see.

Borat, i assume you're talking about football? Buying the hook off of 7 is often a good move for football.
Tate is talking about NBA totals which is an entirely different situation. Shopping carefully for lines will accomplish the same thing for you. Often I end up paying full -110 vig to get an extra 1/2 point or point in NBA totals but haven't found it necessary to buy points.

So not counting the 7 wouldn't it be better to buy the points on NBA totals. I always found it odd that you only get 4 point on 2 team NBA teasers so logically wouldnt that be a better bargain.

You only get 4 points in the NBA because 1 point on an NBA side is worth more than 1 point on an NFL side ( typically). But with NBA totals thats a different story. Teasing 2 NBA totals is a very bad move because the extra 4 points isnt worth giving up so much on the payout. In the long run, you would be a lot better off to just play the 2 totals in a parlay then to tease them. Sides are a different story.

I just don't see it

you're telling me that teasing an NFL game from 8.5 to 2.5 is equally attractive to teasing an NBA game from 8.5 to 4.5?

you oughta run down the results from a typical weekend in the NFL versus a typical day in the NBA, and see the relative percentages that fall within teaser range

I guess the best proof is that, for houses that offer basketball pleasers (i.e. where the player sells the house the 4 pts) the payoff is significantly less than they give for football pleasers --- hence the house is admitting that the 4 basketball pts is not worth as much as the 6 football pts

in short, don't touch hoops teasers with a 10 foot pole
