By now everyone knows Glennon is the man at QB for this team...

They will be starting 2 Freshman at WR

Starting RB kenny lewis junior is coming off Shoulder Surgery... the back up is Darren Evans who the coaches expect alot out of... the hokies are deep at RB and should use at least 3 or 4 every game, also TE greg boone who is a monster will be getting the goaline and short yardage carries i believe...

The O line is much improved from last year and that is why they are going with Glennon. Tyrod red shirting helps the future alot

The D loses some big names from last year but i expect this D to still be damn good.. 2 play makers in the secondary and Martin and Worilds on the line are two great ends... LB's are the biggest question IMO but warren got alot of PT last year when hall went down

I see 10-2 being possible for this team, but if i had a gun to my head i say more then likely 9-3, while 10-2 or 8-4 also would not shock me

just my 2 cents on VT

Best of luck to all this year, Go Hokies

VT goes 6-6 this year in any other major conference but the ACC. They'll finish 8-4 at best. Way too many solid players lost to the draft, inexperienced LB and WR's, and of course injuries and suspensions. Glennon's inconsistent at best and special teams probably won't be as good either.

A few weeks ago, on his weekly radio show Coach Beamer tempered the expectations when asked how VT is going to fare this year ? His answer was something like "we have some young kids that need to mature in some positions. Hopefully, they'll grow as the season progresses". Then this week, we all heard the Lennon news.

This begs the question, says the radio guy: "Is VT a BCS caliber team, 10 or 11 wins? Or are they just average 7-8 wins, coupled with a stretch where they'll be on the road 4 out of 5 games. Would they red-shirt the other kid if they are BCS caliber? And if they're just a bowl bound team (7-8 wins), then it makes sense to red-shirt the kid and not waste a year if Taylor will not change the BCS bowl picture this year?

Makes sense in some way. :toast:

Love VT this week and they should easily cover the -10. VT has a solid team.

Skip Holtz has been money as an underdog. Virginia Tech a little overrated. This one could come down to the wire.

REALLY? What happened?

He has a sprained left foot (said foot not ankle in local papers). Macho is a major factor on the D and VT was planning for him to get some punt returns in and maybe some WR action. The entire WR roster has only 2 WRs who have a combined total receptions of 5! One of those receivers being a converted QB who has spent most of career on sideline for suspension and underacheiving.

Sidenote, Macho had to testify in court today about his apartment getting shot at in November when he was home.

I got the under 47**

IMO VT is always a little overrated. Last year VT vs ECU at Lane Stadium VT -27.5. VT 17 ECU 7. And that was with ECU's the then 3rd string QB - Pinkney (starter injured and ECU employed a "dual QB" method) played pretty well and will be the starter this time around.

Like VT, ECU is also loaded along the O-Line. And they have a bunch of offensive weapons back this season. I look for a close game. And I also think it's going to be higher scoring than people think.

6-6 looking better now. Glennon is crap regardless, at least the special teams haven't dropped off as much though.
