The NFL preseason kicks off on Monday, Aug. 9 when Denver faces Washington in the Hall of Fame game at Canton. The first full schedule of preseason games will be played from Aug. 12 to Aug. 16. Here is a look (by trends) at some of the best situations for this year's preseason schedule:
Week 1
DENVER at Buffalo. The Bills are 2-15 in first week preseason games, including an 0-7 record at home in those contests. The Broncos are 16-1 in week one preseason games, and 7-0 on the road in those games.
Indianapolis at San Diego OVER the total points. The Colts have gone over the total points in 12 of their last 13 preseason road games, and are 5/1 over/under on the road in week one preseason games. The Chargers are 7/2 over/under the first week of preseason games.
Week 2
NEW ENGLAND at Cincinnati. The Patriots are 8-2 in the second week of preseason games. The Bengals are 4-11 as a preseason home favorite, and 1-4 at home in week two preseason games.
New Orleans at Green Bay OVER the total points. The Pack is 21/9 over/under as a preseason favorite, and 7/2 over/under at home in the second week of preseason games. The Saints are 8/2 over/under in their last ten preseason road games.
