Mike Godsey OAKLAND (HARDEN –150)
Oakland has just been a much better team at home with a 32-15 record. They score 5.3 runs per game at home and have a .357 OBP. They face John Wasdin who over his last three starts has a 9.60 ERA and a 1.800 WHIP. For the year his ERA is 6.75. Oakland has won Rich Harden’s last four home starts. In nine home starts his ERA is just 3.02 and a WHIP of 1.147.
In fact he’s given up 2 ER in 19 IP over his last three starts in Oakland. Oakland is 19-5 at home in the series last three years and 33-13 overall in that span. Backing Wasdin is 6-20 since 1997. Oakland is 70-26 in home day games last three years. In fact they are 373-152 in all day games since 1997. Texas is hitting just .233 their last seven games with a .293 BA

Pirates - Impressed with Burnett, he's had good stuff almost every time out. Bucs have won his L4 starts in which he has a 0.96 ERA alllowing only 3 ER in his L28 innings. Have been a broken record as how poor Reds do against LHP pitching with a BA too close to the mendoza line with several starters under it. Reds bats banged up missing several players, riding a 4 game losing streak in which they've managed only 13 runs. Pirates have been unbelievably hot although silent in the news, winning 19 of L25 games including 13 of L14 home games. Claussen only 1 start under his belt, he did well but was against light hitting Brewers and has yet to be tested.
Yankees - Yesterday fights missed one thing, low blows. Lowe has been terrible most of season and really poor in 5 of L6 starts in which BoSox are 2-4 in which he has a 6.82 ERA. Boston lucky to get 2'nd win in L5 games yesterday snapping a NYY 4-game win streak even though they had a big pitching edge. Don't think they have the edge today. Contreras has been on fire since his family came in from Cuba. Yanks have won 4 of his L5 starts and in those 4 wins has allowed 1 ER or none in each game.
