Restaurants:
Hugo's Cellar in the Four Queens (gourmet)
Pink Taco at the Hard Rock (mexican and sights)
Nobu at the Hard Rock (sushi)
Lotus of Siam in Commercial Center (Thai)
Mon Ami Gabi at Paris (Romantic)
Bars:
Crown and Anchor on Trop (Green Doberman's hangout, top 10 in city)
Freakin' Frog on Maryland (largest beer selection in Nevada- over 350 choices)
Tommy Rockers on Industrial (a locals fave)
Brewery at Monte Carlo (get the big one, its a bargain in a tourist trap)
Main Street Station Brewery (don't forget to visit the men's room, a piece of the Berlin Wall is there)
Strip Clubs:
Spearmint Rhino (might be town's number one flesh joint now)
Cheetah's (still an ole fave, remember Showgirls?)
Olympic Garden (closest non ripoff joint from downtown)
Club Paradise (across from Hard Rock, still the classiest joint in town)
Sapphire (simply massive, they say)
AVOID Glitter Gulch downtown, much better off taking a cab elsewhere, trust me it'll be cheaper.
Sights:
Fremont Street Experience (at least see it once when downtown)
Horseshoe Poker Room (pics on wall of all past WSOP champs are worth the walk across the street)
Venetian and Bellagio (both simply beautiful)
Hard Rock and Palms (sights of the female persuasion are in abundance)
Gambling:
poker rooms- Bellagio and Mirage far and away the best, downtown- the Nugget, 'Shoe and Plaza are serviceable
sportsbooks- Stardust for the memories, Coast properties for the best juice, Hilton for its massiveness, Hard Rock for the comfy chairs (you are better off just logging on and betting offshore for the prices and variety)
blackjack- just avoid the ripoff 6:5 games please and settle for decent double or shoe games, BJ conditions have detoriorated horribly in last few years.
shopping- Forum Shops at Ceasars, Venetian, Desert Passage at Aladdin, and Fashion Show Mall (all on strip)
I left out a ton of stuff, but there's are just a few of my recommendations. I'm certain others here will add in their two cents.
