In reality, one doesn't have to be a very strong player to win at most
1-2 NL games as there are just too many undisciplined live ones playing.

Yup I agree with you here. At low levels you don't even need to get fancy.

It's just a battle of mistakes. Make sure you make the least. You'll be amazed how often players just GIVE you their chips.

A lot of things I preach, like being aware of your own table image...they're just not that important when you're playing with morons. I can literally fold 70 hands in a row and then open shove 30bb with aces and lol when 2 people call me. The simple fact is they're not paying attention, not running a HUD, can't interpret it...or whatever.

Lol. I don't have patience for stupidity and sloth. That's why I'm not a good teacher. My wife on the other hand is a brilliant teacher.

Yeah, it's that that I'm a bad teacher per se. I just have low threshold for stupidity and laziness. Basically what you said.

Someone really has to want to learn, which is rare. If they can abandon their pride and say "I don't know shit", then I can teach them. But they also have to be smart enough to grasp the concepts I'm selling. So it's a fine line. Most people smart enough to grasp these concepts already think they know everything.

playing winning poker at this level is usually very dull and is very effective.

playing poker 6 handed (most of the night) cash game 1/2 for 5 hours..

I ran into SEVEN Sets.. and those are just the ones I saw... Notable hands..
Ak.. Flop Ace, Turn K... He Floped Set.... I checked the river, luckily.. his body language was different... but after 5 of them, I fought my way back to even -- I'm thrilled.... For the 6th time that I know of... top pair vs set, hurts.. major hand... i go down $225 in that pot.... Final Hand.. 55, against biggest fish at the table who has big bucks.. flop A56... We get it all in on the turn... he has 66...
and this is why I hate poker lol

I gave up for awhile.

I was holding K-10 and he raises small pre and I call. Flop comes down A-J-7. I be a small amount on the turn and he calls. Turn is a Q so I'm feeling great. I bet a small amount hoping he raises me an he does. I'm feeling great so I sit for a second then reraise him all in. He calls with a set of jacks.

The river? A fourth J.

all one can do is get the opponent to bet, call, or shove when they are getting the worst of it.
if one continuously accomplishes this, good things will happen to your bankroll.
if one can't do this or is putting their chips in when they are getting the worst of
it, then one can't be a winning player in the long run. also, if one plays correctly
and gets sucked out on the river; WELL THAT'S PART OF THE GAME. DEAL WITH IT.
if you can, smile at your opponent and sincerely say nice hand. you may think he's
an idiot, but don't try to embarrass him. when one's opponent makes a mistake
and misses, you will be rewarded with a juicy pot and your chips will return to
their rightful home. if you can't do that or be gracious, take a walk or take a
break before you do/say something that might hurt your ability to earn in
the long term.

these players are just not deceptive enough to cause one to make too
many tough decisions. the tighter and better players usually play straight
forward enough that one doesn't have to pay them off as long as you are
paying attention. the skills needed are discipline, patience, aggression, and
the ability to throw away a good hand when likely beat. knowing the value
of a hand before and after the flop along with the value of position are
important too. when one plays at higher levels, ALL OF THOSE SKILLS ARE VITAL
along with the ability to adjust ones game to different players. hope this helps.

I enjoy Poker...I dealt poker in Las Vegas in the early 80s and played.....do not play that much anymore unless I am in Las Vegas...If I had not gotten into the gambling business I would have probably dealt poker for a long time....I enjoyed the banter in the small games and knew when to shut my trap in the bigger games..

I've had nights like that... Although a few weeks back, I was on the winning end of an ugly suck-out. I had QQ, other guy had KK. I can't remember if we got
it all in pre-flop or post-flop, but flop gave us both sets, and I hit the case Q on the river. (Live $1/$2 game).
