They're not, neither is Obama or Biden or just about any President of the United States. It takes a totally different skill set.

Just like the best and the brightest attorneys do not become judges, they can't afford to, the best and the brightest Americans do not go into politics. They can't afford to and they don't want to deal with the media, the bull shit and the silly little minds that espouse "gotcha politics".
