Just what qualifies here as a Dark Horse ? Before you get too carried away, let's face the facts . The lowest seed to ever win a Championship was the # 8 seeded Nova team back in 1985. Since then the lowest seed to ever win was # 4 Zona in 1997. 18 out of the last 21 Championships have been either 1 or 2 seeds. In 2008 all 4 # 1 seeds made it to the Final 4. So what am I saying ? I'm saying that there is a good chance a Darkhorse will make it to the final 4, but I think the odds are against them big time of winning it all. Butler came perhaps the closest but they got there 2 straight years. VCU made it also last year and George Mason had their run. All close but no cigar. I think it's foolish to make any pick until after one sees the brackets.

^^well hes talking about the conference tournaments, not the ncaa tournament

I see ! I'm not much into wagering a whole lot on them because you never know whether the top seeds really want to win or bail out early and get a much needed rest for the Big Dance. I'm well aware of what U. Conn did last year winning 5 games in 5 nights. However that's not the rule, it's more an exception.

Even though Kentucky is great , and even though the SEC is weak , i'd take anybody else from the SEC as going 19-0 in conference play is nearly impossible.

I'll take Mississippi State.

I think that the A-10 winner will pay more than 10-1. As for some others (not huge odds), but I'm looking at Southern Miss and Indiana. Stanford and U-Conn are both looking tempting to take a small flyer on too.
