How many years does Brees have left on the contract?

Take it from a Bills fan ... paying for two "starting" QBs is NOT the way to go.

Guys Ive watched 5 SD games.. and Brees is not as good as his numbers.. they have a good line and a GREAT back which makes play action very easy.. he isnt making tough passes... he is hitting wide open WR's

When you invest all that money and picks in a guy like Rivers..you have to play him. Ask Cinci with Carson Palmer.

I haven't seen anything San Diego has done...How are they doing it????

They're throttling teams... This is not your father's 'Marty Ball'...

Actually the Chargers won easy today without a big game from Tomlinson. He ran 17 times for 36 yards with a long of 8 yards and one TD. Brees was 22 of 36 for 257 yards with 4 TDs and no INTs. That said I still believe the Chargers future lies with Rivers, Brees has allowed them the luxury of bringing him along slowly. Look for Brees to be elsewhere next season.

Do you trade the NFL MVP to make room for a #1 QB....

This is the same team that was stuck with the lemon Ryan Leaf ...

JM - Brees while very good so far this year is not even MVP on his own team - LT is. He has 653 yards and 7 TDs so far this year.

I don't think Brees is MVP necesarily...I just wonder how a team can cast him away after finally finding success, for an unproven player.... Rivers isn't automatic.

Suppose the Chargers get the AFC Championship game....

They'll probably fade, they've been known to fade, just like the Jets do every year...But this is pretty much a different team...

I guess everyone thinks you just trade Brees and give the job to Rivers...I am curious what the Chargers management is thinking.

FWIW - I doubt highly if the Chargers will just cast Brees away. Every game he does well will add to his price tag. Right now he may be worth 2 #1 draft picks. Can anyone see him in Washington next season?

I believe Brees is a free agent next season. I know the Packers want him. They thought maybe Rivers would be starting by now and they could trade for Brees to beat the crowd. That doesn't look like it will happen and Brees' performance has raised the asking price.

Those look like MVP number to me too. Not sure who mentioned Culpeper, but we'll see if he's MVP material over the next few weeks without Moss (who would make anyone look good).
