GT 30 - UGA 24

CLEM 35 - SC 17

UL 44 - UK 40

Florida at FSU is the SEC's last hope to get an out of conference win today. I see now why they never schedule any decent out of conference opponents. They are living on reputation alone.

they were expected to lose 2 of those games anyway.

Fairplay. Just some friendly banter.

I would like to see them play a tougher out of conference schedule is all, really. I'm sure the selection committee will still find a way to get two of them in the top 4.

Thats the plan anyway. When Long was asked to explain why the Noles were dropped despite wins vs ranked teams, he cited lack of "game control" and fact that some of those teams were no longer ranked. When asked to explain Bama jumping the pack, citing game control and domination of #1 team. When asked to explain why Miss St stayed #4, he cited that they were never out of it vs Bama. So we have game control, while the opponent never being out of it. K, thanks......

Add on, Long responded to the question about Miss St beating only one ranked team by saying that some of the teams that they beat were ranked when they played them. Talk about making it up as you go along...

The committee is using different criteria to judge different teams. They'd help themselves to not do a poll every week.

The Right Teams, or I guess I should say, Correct Teams, will get in. Condoleezza notwithstanding, lol.

which is pretty much the dumbest thing to say. preseason rankings are meaningless.....

In the last 4 seasons, LSU has beaten #18 North Carolina, #22 West Virginia, #3 Oregon, #16 West Virginia, #20 TCU and #14 Wisconsin. And Only 1 being at Home.

True, LSU has been more than willing to expose themselves out of conference, no one can argue. Gators have not played an out of conference game outside state of Florida since like 1990 (whenever it was, lost to Syracuse in the Carrier dome)

how do you prove MSU is better than TCU though?

the answer seems to be, because SEC.

Which is why we need an 8 team playoff to help give other teams a shot instead of jamming in as many SEC teams into the final 4 as possible. then the SEC can be really happy that they can get 4 into the final 8 !!

MSU has beaten 1 top 25 team, and there out of conference sched was laughable. Out of the East, they drew Kentucky and Vandy...LOL. But they had game control

If, and that's a big if, Mississippi State wins today they would have road wins at LSU, Kentucky and Mississippi and home wins versus Auburn, Texas A&M and Arkansas with their only loss being a fairly tight game at Alabama. Not too shabby and I agree the non-conference schedule is a joke. I'm curious, who would you suggest gets in ahead of them?

It seems like the other contenders also played weak non-conference opposition with Ohio State losing at home versus said weak competition and played an easier slate of conference games. TCU seems like the only legit argument IMO.

OhioSt losing at home to VT and playing in the weaker Big10 should not be in the conversation at this point and especially now without their starting QB.

TCU, Baylor, MSU, Bama, Oregon should all be ahead of them IMO and I'm admittedly Big12 biased.

i would have to disagree.. osu started a team dominated with freshman and sophomores and have gotten better every week.. one could say the same for baylor and tcu.. I would have to also argue imo the Big 12 is much weaker conference than most realize imo...

i think any one loss team has a legitimate argument to be in the the top 4 , we will all disagree because of our own biased opinions. Ohio State now starting a third string QB is really tuff though. If they are able to win the conf championship, which will be hard given the QB situation then I feel they will be a lock to get into the top 4 but I wont expect much from them given the challenges they will face starting the 3rd stringer..

Also, imo i think the sec dominance is over. The top tier teams are still tuff sob's but i think the rest of the conference had rode that success on their coat tails. It still by far the best conference in america, no one will change my mind on that. But as offensive coordinators have developed these no huddle, wide open, stretch the field offenses it has given teams who were at a physical disadvantage an opportunity to compete.

What has always set the SEC apart from the rest was their physical dominance in the trenches, that has been negated some what the last few years. Its for that reason that maybe the top 1,2,3 temas of other conferences can compete a little better against the SEC.. it is still the best football in the country top to bottom, and to disagree is just being biased toward your team/conference.

just me 2 cents, not worth much in the real world..
