Good performance so far but versus an 0-5 Mets team and no Piazza or Matsui

Smoltz

15K's and he leaves losing the game.

Back to Back with Beltran and Floyd as Mets try to win a game.

was surprised to see smoltz come out for the 8th with already having 105 pitches... so much for trying to protect him early on.. regardless im glad he was left in.. now I just hope pedro can economize his pitches and close the game.. i do NOT want to see looper in there.

still got 2 innings, anything can happen

Chop-

Don't be so short sighted. Nobody ever said he can't start anymore. It's his 1st year back and it's so tough to make that transition. Now 2nd and 3rd year are different stories. But it's the 2nd game of the season and he's pitched a very good game, let's not jump around and call him Cy Young just yet. He ran out of gas in the 8th. He shouldn't be pitching that deep into games yet. I wanted to bet the Mets today but I didn't wake up in time I had a rough one at the Hard Rock last night. :drink:

smoltz pitched a great game, but what happened to all the talk about Pedro being a 5 inning pitcher at best  2 hitter and should have been a shut out if floyd didn't dive after that ball and just let it drop for a single.

<SARCASTIC>*sarcasm* can't wait another 5 days when Pedro pitches again for another Met win *sarcasm*<SARCASTIC>
