So… here’s what I do believe. Not sure it’s a mush per se but it’s definitely something to it!!! It’s literally been haunting me for decades!! It’s so real, I gave it a name. It’s called… The Dreaded Five.
Allow me to explain.
in the last 25 years, I’ve lost 10s of thousands of dollars, probably more like $200+k… in bases, when ur team is leading and u get to the 8th inning… with ONE OUT IN THE 8th EVERYTHING that can go wrong, will!! Bro, it’s horrifying! If my team is up by 1 or 2 or 3 (sometimes more) runs… the opposite squad have KILLED me soooo many times it physically makes me ill just thinking about it. Obviously not every time but I’ve lost hundreds of games that ties into 1 out in the 8th inning. Lost one tonight in fact!! Toronto was winning whole game by 2 runs and with THE DREADED FIVE in effect… dude for Mets gets his SECOND triple of the game and ties game. Mets go on to win in bottom of 9th!! I gotta stop talking about it. Almost once a day … it’s a living “mush”!!
