I see, makes sense...just like most things, when they first come out.

But really only got Vista because the Windows 7. I was told that it would be an easier Update.

I also heard that Windows 7 will be a Monster ! Can't wait d1g1t

I just fried my hard drive, I was 90 % certain it was hard drive related but called Dell never the less.
They can't suck enough, first they misdiagnose my problem, then they try to hit me up for a $49 fee for misdiagnosing my problem.
I call them back the following morning with a new unrelated problem due to their original misdiagnosis, and they try to hit me up for another 49 dollar tech service fee.
Then they tell me your hard drive is shot, and I was like, "well duh" that's why I called you in the first place, to confirm it is my hard drive.

Then they tell me they can ship me a new 500 gig hard drive via FedEx, next day air.
Next day comes, no hard drive.
I call Dell, they give me a tracking number, turns out tracking number is not next day Fed Ex air, but UPS ground, 5 to 7 business days, and that includes Labor Day.
So 5 to 7 days turns out to be 11 days, they charged my CC, so I can't cancel (well I could, but fuck it).
I even told them, if I don't get my drive tomorrow, I can get it locally, Dell says it must be their hard drive, which is so full of shit, because there are only two hard drives for laptops, 2.5 and 3.5, they said that on purpose to get my business.
Then they tell me once I get the hard drive they can talk me through installation and OS load, which is also a big fat lie, because with out the disc, you can't load Vista through the telephone.
Long storyh short, Staples did restore, reformatting for me, for next to nothing, to perfection I may add.
Dell cost me 13 days with their pack of lies when I could have done it myself in 2 days.

My Vista laptop was trouble-free for a few months then I encountered 2 common problems with Vista, problems shutting off my laptop and Windows Update locking up and not working. I was able to tweak the shutdown process, so it's better but it's still slow.I still haven't been able to fix the Windows Update problem.

Pretty sad for Dell to pull that BS.

But on another note : You're like the 10th person that said they went to Staples to get their PC or Laptop fixed.

Never thought for a min to go there for a problem. So I guess they are good.

Interesting that you say this...First time I shut down windows, it was slow as Shit.
But after that, it has been faster.

I guess if I have a problem again, I'll look for You :howdy:

SS, no, warranty ran out.
I did reverse the charges, so I was out nothing but 2 weeks of shit.
Never again with Dell, they are so 1990's.
p.s. I am extremely impressed with Staples, we bought BillsGirl the latest and greatest HP desktop, with all the bells and whistles, out the door loaded with a 20 inch monitor for about a grand.
Her new machine is lightening fast, like T1 line fast.
Dell tweaked this laptop to factory new.

Yeah, heard it was out there already.
Someone told me where download it from, but I just thought I would do it on the up & Up ( at least on this laptop )
Maybe I'll do it on my old Laptop.

Windows 7 will most likely have issues as well when it launches just as Vista did, like XP did etc etc.
