4-3 +0.54 units (all plays monitored in tracker forum).

Up considerably more scalping, as usual.

I've been way too agressive, have bet way more games than usually do, paid the price. Back to basics from tomorrow.

A slight slow start as expected.

The season is 1.6 % old. :grandmais

Time to start panicking/chasing. :modemman: :nohead:

By the way, those are easily two of the best icons/cartoons the RX has to offer. I'd kill to be able to use them on AIM. Gay.

Good first two days, down a bit today, can be recovered if SF hold on and OAK complete their comeback..

Echo Fish on the +money from Advantage Wagering.. When you end up with "massaged lines" like SF Evens, OAK +130, Florida +200, PIT +120, you'll win eventually.

Santo,

Excellent lines you're getting, are you finding those on Betfair? Would have to agree with your statement if those are the #'s you're betting into.

I screwed up the numbers and wanted to edit but time ran out :p

---

They weren't the lines I got, but "massaged" lines.. For example..

I got news from a service I use that Bonds was to be announced in the lineups. A glance at the "screen" showed some books moving. I glanced at my preloaded and refreshing outs, and saw the best price I could get on SF was -110 (actually -108 was available for $500, but would have wasted time..)

Let's say I bet $5000 on that line (which the book would have took) and so wager $5000 to win $4545.45. I then wait, and 5 minutes before post look again to see the best comeback. Assuming I want a $500 bet, I wager $3813.56 (preferably rounded) to win $4500.

That leaves me with an overall position of $500 to win $731.89 or +146ish... Given it's early in the season, and I had limited funds available due to lots of outstanding bets on the early games, I ended up with $200 to win $200 from -110/+118 bets.

Obviously sometimes it takes more than two bets to massage the line the way you want it, and sometimes it goes against you. You have to be able to read the trends, and win more than you lose.

It's basically scalping, but if I have an opinion on a game, I'll do it this way.

Santo,
Are you finding many scalps so far this year. I am new to scalping bases and am having a hard time finding them (well harder than I thought). If so what books are you finding these at (my problem is that the square books I beat in hoops have 15-20 cent lines and I can't find plays there)

Do you take a lot of leads, if so any advice or is that too risky for you?

Just curious. trying to learn. Thanks

Yes I take a lot of leads... I'm not gonna say what books I got them at, sorry.. The fact is that if you're in America (which I'd say you are from your location), you likely can't play at quite a few of them anyway.. With the US books I use it's very much an "information war" as to who gets the lines first, as they're generally books that will move very quickly on action but not much (if at all) on air...

I have a few indicators I look to when taking leads, amongst which are the "public" nature of both pitcher and team, my own methods for calculating ML and Totals (which I've found to be a good indication, as it uses only "basic" data, which whilst perhaps not offering the best predictor of the result, does offer a good indicator of which way the money seems to come), and getting injury and umpire information ahead of the market ("information war"). Whatever line the books put out there, if when people check the lines in the morning at BoDog or whatever out they favour, they see Poncino or Montegue behind the plate, the line's going North fast. If I bet the overnights, it's more often than not a decent lead.

The Pirates suck as usual which means another summer of having no team to root for in meaningful games. I dont even remember what it is like. I would love baseball so much more if I had a competitive team to root for. :Sad Face:
