I've been seriously considering doing some projects that where recently presented to me that some would maybe lump in as and
or claim to be going "Tout" (only because my posting plays in the forums would end). I can't really discuss anything in the moment.
But here is my take on having any type of job or involvement pertaining to this industry (sportsbooks, watch dog sites, services, touts, etc). Just about anything in this industry can be stereotyped, negatively portrayed, and mis perceived. This industry-hobby-profession whatever it is to you is something I have a great passion for. I love the art of capping. I truly consider it an art form. But I know people who have no involvement in this industry and or knowledge of it (they don't bet on sports) who look at it the same way people in some of the various posts above lump in all the services, touts, etc. They sterotype bettors, bookies, etc. See them all in a negative way. They see other forms of gambling like Poker as hip and cool and portrayed very well in the main stream. They look at Fantasy Sports as fun for the die hard sports fan. But they see all bettors as degenerates , they see this as a no skill involved coin flip type of activity, bookies as a bunch of guys trying to get some colllege athlete to shave points/fix a game, Etc. Which we all here know is not even close to being accurate and or true. I think the long winded point I'm trying to make is just about anything in this industry-hobby-profession could be blindly lumped altogether or stereotyped (books, watch dog sites, touts, Etc). My grandfather when I was a kid told me once "Kevy, when people show you who they really are......believe them" at the time it pertained to making friendships, socializing, etc. But I feel that is something that can apply here in this subject/debate. You can't judge every single service, tout, book, watch dog site, forum posters, Etc as one big group that is all going to be the same. In each group/category you let the person or business show you who they really are (by actions or inactions----by their good or by their bad) and then you believe them. Hopefully when I make my transition to my next chapter in this industry, I will be looked at for what I'm doing or contributing and not lumped in and or stereotyped based on how others have represented themselves.
