When we refuse to take the field they're going to score points. I still believe that Nazi Germany using 1940's tech could take out ISIS in a few days.
Something to ponder though. Before we invaded Iraq, ISIS was about 40 strong, now they're over 40k strong. Did that many people have a sudden spiritual awakening?
Since the invasion of Iraq, 500k Iraqi's have been killed as a direct result, about 120k were innocent civilians, this is just in Iraq. It's hard for me not to think 120k innocent deaths isn't correlated with ISIS's numbers increasing. There are far more violent Muslims today than in a long time.
It's pretty sad that it has come to this, but we are at war rather we want to admit it or not. ISIS needs to be dealt with. But lighting a fire in another country like IRAN or some other middle eastern country that had nothing to do with ISIS , is not very smart.
Exterminating over a billion people isn't that simple. Nazi's couldn't even do 1% of that, and they tried really hard. Islam was slowly on its way to getting on with the rest of the world, there are moderates now, when in earlier times there were zero. Things have been headed backwards though the last 30 years, and even more so the last 10 years. The last ten years have been yikes. You can try to kill a billion people but it will just make things worse. The best way is to change the culture, which can't be done by force, but by example.
