A living on bonuses, No not really. If you pick 52.38% or better, you'll do well, with the added incentive.
It's a tool, not a panacea.
It works best with new accounts early in one's career. A point is reached where one runs out of books, or resorts to books like Oklahoma, Pan-am, Apex, Blue Marlin, etc.
There are opportunities for a re-up bonus before football season, but by then you are getting less. It works great for awhile, and can help you build a bank, then it slows down, or becomes riskier.
One for example could open at Skybook and Pinnacle, get bonus from Sky, take free half at Sky ( NFL), play it against Pinny ( near even), and roll thru requirements easily, Thus " earning" Sky's bonus with little risk ( none, really).
It gets harder then. Not too many free halves out there. Then you have to shop reduced juice, or line variations against Pinny, still works.
Eventually you must pick winners, and return to places like Sky, Hollywood, etc. SIA against Pinnacle will get an easy bonus there ( SIA), or against Sky.
You hit a wall at some point. With baseball you can play shops like Grande, Olympic, Hollywood, Pinnacle, and others against each other. You roll through their bonuses quick enough. The end is nearing.
Hopefully by now, you've increased your BR by 300%. Looks great, but you are running out of shops. You can quit while you are ahead, few do.
You got the free ride, learned a thing or two ?, now pick winners !
This bonus stuff does end, in time !
A bonus earned, should be paid, it can be abused, by either side. Some resort to multiple accounts ( I never have), I don't advise it, it is blatantly dishonest, and risky ! It is tempting to try this against any book, esp. the likes of SIA.
Good Luck,
Doug
