Smarty shook clear turning for home, he had broken the hearts of those stalking/harassing him. One threat only now, a horse looming up in the turn, but still a ways back. The early sparring had taken a bit out of Jones but he continued on gamely through the lane, finishing eight in front of the show horse. But the mile and a half was just a bit too much for him. He never quit though, he just got beat.

The winner was bred in the blue top to bottom. Sire won the Kentucky Derby. Dam won the Kentucky Oaks. Class can jump up at any time. Marylou Whitney has won many big races but this was here first-ever Classic win. What a classy lady. New Yorker Nick Zito won his first Belmont off finishing second five times. Good for them. Smarty has banked over $7.5 million. There's a $30 million offer to stand stud in Kentucky. I'm fairly sure the Smarty people are going to be ok also. Next case.

Smarty did the best he could. Elliot took the lead too soon. They ran 10 furlongs in 2 minutes flat which is motoring. He could only run a final quarter in 27 and change. He was punch drunk in the lane, the only horse who closed got him. 12 furlongs is the test it was went to be.

It is a shame that some people try to degrade a sport like horseracing. i had never seen a horse race before i was 30, and now cannot get enough of it. There is something about hearing and feeling the ground vibrate when you are down on the rail and not up in the seats. I have had a box for over 25 years at various tracks , and would much rather be down on the rail. Also, to be there at 5:30 in the morning when they are brezzing or working a yearling in the gate. There is nothing like it. I quess iwill have to agree to disiagree. Thanks Buddyr

So you two guys don't care for horse racing. What's the point of entering the thread? To be jerks? A Belmont record crowd of over 120,000 was in attendance. Millions around the nation were captivated by Smarty Jones' run at the Crown. Go F'in find another parade to rain on. We all could enter threads everyday with negativity. But most of us don't.
