I also said playoff games are to be taken game by game and that i dont make series wagers for that reason. My opinion on the possible sweep was just that because someone asked me about it, that is all. I dont think SF are done but they should have plenty of runs today and just dont, that is all. Still 6 outs for SF to get 2 runs, lots of time they way they are hitting, although the rain delay could change things. I know it can be painful but I love baseball and like to watch every pitch :)

I happen to be on St. Louis for this game so am pleased with the outcome. In reading through this thread there seems to be a common theme about S.F. getting a lot of guys on base and not getting any clutch hits. For what it's worth the Cardinals lost their best player in the first inning. There is no one in the playoffs who is playing any better that Carlos Beltran and it would be very significant if he misses tomorrow or any future games. The Cardinals overcame the loss of their most productive player as they actually used three additional players to play right field during the game. Lohse, probably wasn't quite as sharp as Cain but he managed to extricate himself when needed and the rest of the Cardinal staff was up to the task. Additionally, Lohse is a free agent after this season and may be one of the most attractive pitchers available if the Cards do not re-sign him.

I'm game! What is your point with the post? Beltran loss is a fair trade for the hits SF had or the runners left on base? LOL NO WAY, man, but I could be wrong about the intention of your fact-filled post.

The reason I say NO way is that the guy that replaced Beltran hit a two run homerun. I don't know what you are saying, but I'm guessing. If I guess right, then I strongly disagree.

You know, r.a., I apologize. I'm sorry, very much. Your post is fine, though I disagree since the guy who replaced Beltran hit the two run homer...good job for him and I mean it!

I'm sorry. I came across too strongly. SF did many things to win this but close it and I'm miffed.

You know why I'm miffed? Not you. It was a fine post, though I disagree a bit. I'm miffed because I knew that one wouldn't make it and I worked very hard to come up with my Yankees/Tigers wagers, and those got put away without a drop of rain!

FURTHER, I then started playing SBG Global's blackjack and lost a load of money because of the rain delays. LOL MY FAULT, but I'm still miffed. I told Bookmaker (a real cheat of a casino) and SBG Global, not so much of a cheat, but a cheat still, to turn off my casino access. They both did. Maybe this works for good (for all those that love the Lord....) because I don't need to be playing a known bunch of casino crooks.

My fault. Not yours. Thank you for the thoughtful post and I'm the better for it.

Tulsa, my main point was that there was a lot of discussion about S.F. and their numerous opportunities that didn't produce but one run. Meanwhile the Cards were without their best player and still found a way to persevere. If Beltran is not available for tomorrow or the rest of the series S.F.'s chances are significantly enhanced. Yes, Carpenter came in and delivered but he's no where near the offensive threat that Beltran poses.

That is a great point and I did catch that. I'm going to consider that fact, no doubt, and I appreciate that type of thinking. At the same time, I do hope you read my apology.

Thanks, I did ... and I am sorry about the online casino losses - not fun.

I don't know about skyla, but I'd say this: my mental health is much improved if I do other things than listen to or watch the game. For me (and I know for you) this isn't entertainment. Too much emotional drama to watch and all the balls bouncing this way and that and hitting goal posts and foul poles and runners fumbling the balls and ALL that stuff.

When really it is a black box. I put my pick in and a few hours later I get my results out. I don't NEED to see the sausage making process.

Sounds like a pretty cut and dried process that we would all like to do but personally I like to watch the games whatever they are. You can always pick up something that happen in the game and use it for future references. The box score does not always tell the whole story of the game especially in football.

Watching a baseball game you have action on is like torture porn. Better to just check the final score. Disagree about other sports tho def an advantage to be had from watching the game with halftimes and such.

LOL on torture porn-

I do watch or listen to the FB games for the halftime opportunities, you're right.

Hey, I'm not perfect at staying away from the game. I like sports. My post above is my ideal, not my ability to always stay away from the game.

Of all the terrible things I've done, I'm glad to say that I get to take your word on it for the torture porn.

Good luck on your Detroit side, Skyla!

uh oh, this look just like yesterdays game. Det has left 4 runners on base in 2 innings already. Think Det hits all day but they wont win if they cant bring them in. May watch something else
