Offered me cash instead of tickets to the game and I have accepted. :toast:
Makes more sense for everyone. I am a Dolphin fan and was not dying to see this game, though it certainly would have been a lot of fun and I was definately going to enjoy it.
I was going to take my dad to the game, but he is fine with this. He had already been to a super bowl anyway ( I have not).
I posted here before he had Dolphins season tickets in the eighties when Marino was flinging the ball all over. He used to take me to a lot of the games. It was always entertaing, the games would be like 38-35 either way against a good team or 42-10 if Miami was playing some loser team.
I tend to ignore all the "Marino isnt a great quarterback since he never won" comments, but having seen many of his games I think people who say stuff like that are friggin jackasses. Dolphins had no defense or running game when Marino was in his prime, but they still won a lot of games. #13 was the only thing that kept them out of the cellar. Football teams have about 24 starters, 1 guy out of 24 can only do so much.
Anyway, my dad got tickets to the Dolphins-49ers Superbowl , 1985 I think, thru a lottery for season ticket holders for face value $75. Can you believe that, they were only $75! He flew out to California, game was at Stanford Staium I think, and watched the Dolphins get demolished by Joe Montana and Roger Craig. No defense finally caught up with Miami after a 14-2 season.
Thanks again to Skybook for that great prize! I can honestly say if the game had been out of town ( I am living in Jacksonville now) , I would have been very, very happy to take Skybook up on the whole package. As it is, taking some cash made sense.
Thanks SKYBOOK!!! arty:
And GO EAGLES!! (Or at least cover)
