Here's the rules:
The basic idea of the contest is to establish a 6 game winning streak (or more) by making ONE pick each day, choosing a TEAM that will score:
If you correctly pick the TEAM TOTAL to go over or under, your streak will continue and you must pick again the next day.
After hitting 6 in a row, players have the option of taking the $50 prize OR risking it all to go on for the next available prize. Should he choose to collect, all other streaks will remain in intact.
As soon a player loses, that player may start over the next day. A loss will not eliminate you from further competition.
You must post a play everyday during a winning streak with one exception. If there are 4 games or less SCHEDULED, everyone will receive a bye for that day. However, anyone may choose to make a play on that day. In doing so, he risks ending his streak with a loss but will benefit by hitting the play to extend the streak.
If you choose a team in a game that gets rained out, your streak will stay alive. A second choice will not be allowed after your pick is rained out. Very important, if the game goes at least 4½ innings with the home team leading, or 5 innings otherwise, it will be ruled official, and the game will be graded whether it goes the full 8½ or 9 innings or not, contrary to what is required for actual totals.
If the team you choose is involved in a doubleheader, you must state which game you are selecting. If the game# is not specified, the pick will be graded a loss.
All games are ACTION. A pitching change will NOT have any effect on the TEAM selection.
Deadline to post is 5 minutes prior to POSTED start time.... even if delayed for ANY reason. NO EXCEPTIONS.
We will feature a Pick's Thread daily in the Bases Forum for everyone to make their play.
The contest will run until further notice.
I will be posting daily standings to keep everyone updated.
If any unforseen circumstances should occur, the Sponsor or the RX will have the right to modify the rules at anytime. This may involve such things as lowering or raising the run total, modifing the length of streaks or other minor details that could arise.
