Skybook Beer Machine ?

I'm sure some of you guys have them. I have 2, unopened in a closet. I read a question posted at another site about them, this man didn't have good results, thread went nowhere.

How's it work for you guys ? The cost of ingredients seems a bit high to me. Add in the time, and losing a large chunk of refrigerator space, the wife would love that ! I ask is it worthwhile ?

One is definetly earmarked for re-gifting, should I keep one ?

To be perfectly honest, IMO, you may want to gift it if you aren't the kind of guy who likes to cook, etc. I am just too swamped with other stuff to really use mine. Mine sits kind of like all of the other stuff I buy on informercials. GL Doug!!!

Thanks Rioshill, it seems like an item you use once, then relegate to storage, not sure I want to use as a gift, I don't like gifts I hate !

Maybe the recipient re-gifts it, and it becomes like a fruitcake ?, or those nasty boxes of chocalates people give you at Christmas, with the yucky fillings ?

A group of us in my Franternity had one in college, and it is not the type of product to make you quit buying beer and make it all yourself. The process was not that complicated, mostly waiting.

I will be honest it was some DAMN fine beer, but most of us used it a couple times and that was the end of it. Although, one friend got really into it and upgraded to some more professional equipment and still does it as a hobby.

If you havent tried it and you like beer, you should- if you are not a beer fan, it is probably not worth the time.
