What a fucking moron. He said they pull thier punches. He also said its just like pro wrestling. What a fucking moron this guy is. ESPN looks like idiots with having people that know nothing about the sport talking about it. What a fucking clown.

I KNOW IT'S NOT FAKE.

ESPN is starting to wake up to the fact that this sport is here to stay. They now show highlights and report the results. They are a little late to the sport. I think it will be on ESPN in the future.

Bayliss is an idiot.

If you don't like or understand it don't say anything about it.

I don't think it's fake but it's a total trash sport, if you can even call it a sport. The popularity of this "thug" activity just shows you how tasteless and classless the American public has become.

Oh realy. Yet you watch other sports and you want to say that about MMA. Makes you stupid.

What teams are you a fan of. Please tell me. There are criminals in all walks of life.

Yeah, it's a sign of the times, unfortunately. Years ago something like this was underground, now it's "mainstream". Great.

I remember years ago Sugar Ray Leonard fighting (I think) Hearns, and waving the ref over during the fight. It was clear the opponent had nothing left and Leonard was just taking free shots. He was trying to get the ref to stop the fight. Unlike the UFC, Leonard had respect for his opponent - he didn't just want to beat his brains in.

I watched that Bisping fight someone posted recently here. Disgusting. I was embarassed I actually watched it. The guy (Henderson?) puts a solid right on the guy and knocks him out cold. He didn't exactly wave the ref over to stop the fight - jumped on him as he was layed out and threw another right to his unconscious opponent. He would have kept going to - it took the ref jumping on his back to get him to stop. Yeah, beautiful "sport".

he is an idiot. I'd like to see him get in there with any fighter and then he can repeat what he meant.

Fans of this garbage are basically lower middle class to middle class trailer trash denizens of society who have excessive tattoos, drink too much, smoke, use drugs, beat their wives and/or girlfriends, don't use turn signals when they unsafely drive their unregistered and uninsured pick up trucks and have no driver's license or an expired license.

Forming an opinion based on one fight shows a ton of insight on your part - thanks for the post. This would be like me saying I find the entire NBA disgusting 'cause of the incident at The Palace, or because of Dennis Rodman kicking that cameraman.

Most UFC matches end with at least a handshake, if not an embrace, as the fighters for the most part are respectful of each other.

Foolish outlook on the sport.

So you are basing the entire sport on one fight? How many boxers have died from being hit too much? Mike Tyson is a real role model.

Is slugging a guy who's flat on his back, knocked out cold illegal in this sport?

Fighters are taught to go until the ref calls the fight. It's bad sportsmanship what Henderson did but those two had a ton of bad blood. Henderson is one of the most respectful fighters in the sport and what he did at UFC 100 is definitely not the norm. He just hated Bisping on a level that went beyond your normal trash talking.

When Tyson behaved badly and outside of the rules, he was dealt with. What exactly is out of bounds in this sport? It's pretty clear sportsmanship isn't expected.

No eye-gouging. No groin shots. No kicks to the head of a downed opponents. There are a ton of rules.

What Henderson did is completely legal. Obviously it's frowned upon if you know the other fighter is out and not getting back up but many times when a guy gets knocked out he wakes up when he hits the mat. There have been times when people thought they had won but the guy recovered after hitting and thus the fight didn't end. You can't take chances. Go until the ref pulls you off.
