Had 4 days of hard skiing (3 at Vail 1 at Beavercreek) and am back home now. Came home 2 days early because of lack of fitness and a big toe that was turning purple, but the best time I have ever had skiing. Sad in a way that I was doing what many only dream of and I missed betting every night. Also went with the guys and next time i am taking a lady skier. Also found it hard to ski all day and hit the night spots, hell I was ready for bed at 9:30, I must be getting old.
Bigbet, I like the Village better at BC, the terrain better at Vail. I am an intermediate skier but will ski all the black diamonds all be it very cautiously. The back bowls at Vail are truely world class and with 6000+ acres you never have to ski the same run twice unless you want to. At BC we skied from one end to the other and Bachalor's Gulch is a site to behold. The Ritz-Carlton there is the most impressive structure i have seen in the mountains, I think it runs about a dime a night but I may try to stay there via a online auction in the future. They have a tech butler for anyone haveing computer problems, pretty classy.
the only thing i did not like about BC was the village. it was secluded. and you had to pass through a gate to get into BC. how are the pub's/taverns in vail. ther is only one pub in BC, i think. i forget the name, but it is right off the slopes. everything closes to early

Randy from my experiences with Vail their night life was not that great (right at the slopes, in the villages) but the skiing at Vail is the best!
Where did you eat? Ever heard of Kaltenberg Castle in Lion's Head? They had the best food after a day of skiing, nice in hearty, and great beer.
All of this talk makes me wish I never moved from CO back to Buffalo.
